Is there a certain level where looting becomes efficient?

50c-1s doesn’t seem worth looting, is that a safe assumption? Just trying to get an idea here, ignore my name.
Every once is a while you loot something exciting, its worth it. A few weeks ago I looted a hyacinth macaw on the beach in stv, random mob. That helped with alt mount money 
It may not seem like much individually, but over the course of 60 levels it adds up tremendously. And as you get higher levels the junk you loot starts becoming worth more. It’s absolutely worthwhile to loot everything and vendor it or AH it depending on the item and demand.

I mean, are you planning on training the lvl 4 spells when you hit lvl 4? Wouldn’t you like to repair your red armor? That requires copper and silver from looting

You are already killing hundreds of mobs as you level. That 1s adds up to 1g quite easily. Loot everything. Leveling with skinning is also amazing if you plan on making the goal of mount at 40.

This doesn’t even make sense.
Are you talking about not auto-looting and leaving the coin, or not bothering to ever go over to the corpse and loot at all? How would you do any loot drop quests?
And unless you plan to make all your money off fishing and cooking, and even those have upfront costs, you have to pay for spells and repairing your armor.
EDIT: I mean … even the speed-levelers have to loot, and they’re trying to be as efficient as possible.

unlike many game that have loot systems classic has a ton of valuable low lvl items and mats. also if this is your first toon you will need the coin to fund skill training and a mount at 40.
There are people that don’t loot?

Drunk posting, my kind of guy!! Yes, I would say loot everything. Turn on auto loot and it’s not really an extra time sink or anything. This game is a grinder, take the time to make as much gold as possible, you’re already there, you’ve already killed the mob, might as well get your 5s or whatever.

I can’t imagine killing a mob and not looting it. What if something amazing drops?

Oh, sorry. Loot everything! Turn auto loot on too. Invest in bigger bags to hold more loot. Take the time to go vendor loot if your bags are full. The higher level the mobs get, the more valuable their loot will be (in general). You will find blue boe items, not often, but you will. You might find (moreso at higher levels) epic boe items.
All levels have some items that are valuable for crafting, quests, whatnot, as well as a lot of vendor trash, but it all adds up!
