would you be OK if they were a spell?
well there are toys versions to free up bag space
so they act like spells to an extent
While I still have my Dalaran hearthstone in my toons’ bags, my normal hearthstones have been holiday or expansion themed toys for quite a while now, so those normal hearthstones are no longer in any of their bags, just a spot on a less frequently used action bar.
/moo
I only use the Toy versions.
I use one of the heartstone toys so my hearthstone isn’t in my bag anyway.
Do they still work if you delete the HS from your bag?
yes
What do you mean? We have this choice already.
If you like having a physical item in your bag, you can go to the Inn and bind there to get a physical item.
If you want to have as many bag spots as possible, you can obtain one of the many toy versions that only require an action bar slot and delete the hearthstone in your bag.
OR you can follow my lead and bind a toy to the key and for some reason keep a stone in my bag. Three if you include the stormwind cape and dalaran stone.
A spell but the main issue is bag space. The game needs to be better at giving us less stupid stuff to lug about or turn more things into currencies. Like honestly the reagent bank should consume the item and store it as currency while letting you “withdraw” them. Taking a page out of the number 1 MMO, FFXIV, you’ll see that the way they do gear is better too what with letting each slot basically have their own backpack with more than ample amounts of space to store pieces in. Imagine if you could “store” consumables too on your character sheet and toggle them around. It be nice.
Excluding regular hearthstone, I’m up to nine. It would be nice to have them made into spells/abilities that could go on bars, etc. Or an option to put it in a collection and then you get a spell/ability to use in it’s place. Like Runescape (bare with me) has keepsakes. You put the gear item in that and it removes from you, then you can use as transmog. But in this case we’d just get a spell/ability in return.
I like that they are in my bag because I use the 3 hearthstones to separate my items in my bags.
In EverQuest the “heathstone” was a spell called Gate. I would rather have that.
I’m in this comment and I don’t like it.
Just thinking about the pages and pages and pages and pages and pages of inventory in that game makes me sick, no thank you. I do wish WoW would cut down on the number of items in general it expects me to lug around though.
Really, I’d prefer a more convenient bank space. ESO’s method of giving you a transportable banker and an account-wide bank, plus letting you stash all crafting materials in an infinite space you can craft straight out of instead of having to move things in and out of storage all the time, just cuts down on so much inventory management it’s bliss (so long as you’re paying the sub).
Request unclear.
Making players buy scrolls of town portal now instead. Item is unique and does not stack. Costs 500g each, consumed on use.
So evil.
I still have Rank 1 teleport scrolls in my bag from when this warlock was leveling inscription…10 years ago. I occasionally use them to get teleported to some random location in the middle of nowhere
All my characters use the toy instead of the hearthstone item in the bag. But I have Dalaran, shipyard and garrison hearthstones in my bags instead…
“We can’t offer a tome for your scrolls because our engines couldn’t handle that. In a future patch, 3 years from now when we’re in a content draught, we will make it so your scrolls now stack in 5s, but are also still unique, cause logic.”
I forgot those were even a thing I was making fun of Diablo lol
This issue could be resolved if blizz just put in tooltips if the item was removed (more likely to hold on) plus where it came from and what it is used for/in. People hoard items without extra info just because they are unsure if it may be needed later on.
Like the korthia shrooms, at the time they were for nothing. Later on used to get a pet. The current ZM bufonids item is the same thing. Like it’s not a gray but an on use so blizz must have given it for some event/pet/toy (however it has no purpose as of now).
I think it would be a Great Idea to Consolidate All the Hearthstones Into a Single One. As you Earn a Hearthstone just Add that Point to it, Kinda like when the Mage would earn the different town portals. Too many Hearthstones to try and keep track of now.
