Should Blizzard update their vanilla gear?

I would like updated versions of old gear but only if that didn’t mean the original looks are removed in the same process.

I’m going to report this again, since this mistake has existed for nearly 5 years: one of my favorite weapon models is the Blade of Misfortune, but it’s had the wrong blade texture since 7.0.3, ruining the look. Post-7.0.3, the Blade of Misfortune appears to have the blade texture from Shaarde the Greater mistakenly applied to it.
