no. earn it like everyone else did.
stop asking for something that’ll never happen.
Let’s look at the list of things that’ll never happen from the expansions of old shall we?
- A LFR system so casuals can enjoy raiding.
- Class mounts, like warlocks and paladins get.
- Duel specs
- Easily obtainable high level gear for casuals
Do I really need to continue?
Honestly I don’t see the issue with retroactive pathfinder unlocking. If someone went through and did the current expansions content unlocks it just sours them to be locked out of years old content. I seriously think the money people have a problem with it which is why it is still here.
If you want to do those expansions you will be required to do it from the ground unless you want to earn path finder. You can always wait to max your character then return to trivial content when getting pathfinder would be much easier and then level an alt through it with flying.
I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again.
- Patch X.0 should release Pathfinder Part 1 (like it is now)
- Patch X.1 should release Pathfinder Part 2. It doesn’t take long to earn Part 1, and gating it for nearly a year is ridiculous.
- Patch X.2 should allow purchasing flying per character via 10K gold. Not everyone has alts, and having both options abailable is nice. Plus, it gives people who do the actual achievement flying a few months before people can purchase it via gold per character.
How’s that for a solution?
Yes. But stodgy people will say earned their pathfinders in those expansions and they ought to be special for it. There’s no valid argument to be had, with every new expansion the flying costs/accessibility from previous ones was always made easier.
how about you just earn it like the rest of us did?
The content is not relevant anymore. This would be an argument if legion/wod was current content.
There is no reason something trivial like flying in content you go through with alts should be gated so much.
No but WoD should be auto unlocked at max level. As should Legion once we get the next expansion. The previous and current should remain in place with the reputation requirement for the previous expansion being reduced down one tier.
To be fair with the new players, WoD pathfinder was a nightmare to get compared to BFA, i still see a lot of people running in Draenor when i level alts and i can’t blame them for not wanting to farm all of that stuff in old content.
When WOTLK came out, flying costs were reduced for TBC flying.
When CATA came out, WOTLK flying costs were reduced (and ultimately just removed all together).
It makes zero sense why WOD now enjoys this sacred place in everyone’s hearts as the expansion we can’t fly in because we aren’t good enough.
I agree. Why would I limit my end game progression to spend time unlocking flying in dead zones. Sorry people had to do that in years past but doesn’t make any sense to do now.
I have all the Pathfinders except for BFA Part 2 (almost there though), so I could care less personally as I go for the achievements anyway. But again, not everyone thinks like me, and not everyone has a bunch of alts like I do. Having options is nice.
If you unlocked Pathfinder during WoD and Legion while those two were the newest expansion then you weren’t “grinding it out”, you were playing the game. I unlocked Pathfinder part 1 and didn’t even realize I was working towards it. I logged in, played everyday, tried to gear my characters and alts and just happened on it. Even now, i’m just playing the new zones and Part 2 will unlock naturally. Legion and WoD pathfinder achievements won’t unlock naturally. I will need to go out of my way, for weeks just to unlock a part of the game.
Regardless of the specific content being played, I doubt they will ever implement anything that would greatly reduce time played or add to fun playing the game,
I think for the old expansion, just sell flying for 100k gold or something.
This is the solution I was thinking of. Once an expansion is 2xpacs old (WoD in this case) Mabey not out right remove Pathfinder but greatly simplified. I also believe if you want the mount that comes with it then you should have to do the whole thing. Since Legion is only 1 xpac old at the moment it should remain how it is atm.
Yeah, but that’s the issue I have with this argument. It’s not current, therefore, Pathfinder should be eliminated. Problem is, if it’s not current, and you don’t plan on spending any real time there, why do you need to be able to fly in said content?
That’s my point, you really really have to go out of your way to farm everything needed to unlock Pathfinder in WoD
100% agree, even though I unlocked those when they were current - I really don’t want people wasting time doing that when they should be working on being M+ ready… chop chop
