Short races should have a higher jump height

My wife spent an hour last with her vulp mage trying to do a section of the secret mount quest where you have to do some platforming up a cave wall, before she called me over to help.

I took one look at what was happening, hopped over to my toon and brought her an atomic recalibrator so she could turn into a blood elf for a while.

I’m not sure she could have done it without it. Its silly how much harder jumping puzzles are with short races. Just giving them a slightly higher jump height would helps make them equal to the taller races and stop gatekeeping like this from happening.

After she changed into a blood elf she got it in 2 jumps…

That would just look weird for races like gnome and goblins inexplicably clearing three body lengths. Just accept it as a logical consequence of choosing a race with shorter legs.

And lower walking speed, deal?

Shorter legs does not necessarily mean they have shorter jump tho. Cats have short legs but they can jump hella high

…realized what she had been missing and jumped for joy? Twice?

ah, but if you shrink your strength-to-weight ratio you can jump higher

I think there was a time short races could drown in lower water than everyone else. Black Morass they end up swimming in certain parts while everyone else ran through.

That’s the price you pay for being able to fit in doors!

This is because they have quadrupedal limbs. In which case, worgen should logically have the highest jump height.

Not sure if fixed, but I know Siege was totally racist against us.

That fountain… that gd fountain…

Honestly, it would be pretty awesome if WoW leaned heavier into the RPG aspects of races.

Gnomes and Dwarves should have slower speed and lower jumps, but should make up for it with cool perks like superior vision (lower chance to miss attacks or be parried).

It’s also a huge miss that Earthen does not have a racial that gives them a small chance to fully resist poison, disease and curses. That would be so awesome!

One of my characters just recently died by drowning while doing the pipe puzzle in Ringing Deeps because she is so short.

gnome dh when

Gnone Pally first plz. Tiny character wielding huge hammer is cute

It’s downright bigotryisms!

As taller races gets older, they will have to ask to pick something off the floor for them because they can not bend over. That’s when Gnomes, Goblins, and Vulpera would say " Hell No ! Good luck picking that up. lol :joy:"

While being smaller and thus having less mass would make having less for gravity to hold down make sense usually, keep in mind that Gnomes and Dwarves at least are denser per cubic CM than other races, even other small races like Goblins or Vulpera.

High jumping for Goblins or Vulpera makes sense, a stone heavy Dwarf/Gnome does not. However there’s something funny about having that much mass centralized into so small a space, it works like the humanoid version of the planc constant, which allows ants and other small arthropods to lift exponentially more than their body mass.

So Dwarves/Gnomes are ground bound ants. In the original strength stat chart, Dwarves are even equal with a Tauren in the strength chart despite being several magnitudes smaller.

It is a game with “magic”…

This is why all my characters are Engingeers…

Sadly they waste their accumulated jump energy for the backflips.
