When I get to the step where I need to talk to Nixx Sprocketspring in Gadgetzan, he gives me the option of training some recipes for goblin engineering or the option to chat and satisfy the quest requirement. Even when I click on the quest option, it brings up the engineering training window. I dropped the quest, turned off addons, neither of those options worked.
Same here. Have you figured out how to get it to work? I put in a ticket but still waiting for a response from Blizzard.

I too have this issue. I was able to complete on another character and even watched the wife complete it. Spent the last week with CS and emails with no avail. No addons. Reset UI. Deleted the game/app and all files reinstalled. Left area returned. Dropped quest several times.
I did get past it but I had to submit a ticket. They marked the quest complete magically and I was able to finish it

Knowing how to schmooze the GMs is important to the outcome. Calling them MFers, for example, usually negative effect.
I only called them that here. I have been back and forth with Support for 20 days now. Several emails sent back and forth. The first 4 messages I got where all the same. âReset your UI.â " Leave the area and return." " Drop the quest and Pick it back up" After trying each of those things several times I get, âWell nothing we can do, we canât complete it for you.â They send me the link here and I read that they totally can do it. That makes them MFers. Been with the game since BC, never been so disappointed. Today I got another saying âWTG you did it!â Itâs still not done.

Same problem here. I put in a support ticket, was initially told to check community resources, disable addons, etc. When I responded that Iâd already tried all of those methods and the bug still exists, they said they couldnât manually complete the quest for me since it could cause an entire realm to have to be reset. Then I was told to open a bug report (which I did, but which specifically states Iâll get no response to.) So, their version of customer support is to direct us to a black-hole bug report system and mark our only ticket method with direct feedback as âAnsweredâ which auto-closes if we donât reply back to them within a week that we still have a problem. Overall, this appears to be a very consumer unfriendly process. I would think there should be a method for a support ticket to be placed into a separate bucket related to a known issue and have that ticket remain open until that issue is deemed resolved on their end for the customer to check again. That is how other companies, such as power companies or telecom companies handle outage tickets for customers. Not sure why the concept is so foreign to Blizzard/Activision.

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you are trying to complete the quest âShort Circuitâ but are unable to and donât have the option to complete it.
So, Iâve had a look into this and our Developers are currently aware of the issue thatâs causing this, at the moment due to how this quest works we do not have a workaround or fix we can provide until the Developers have fixed this bug.
At the moment it looks like it will be fixed in an upcoming patch, but beyond that I donât have any further details at the moment.
I do know this isnât ideal since you wish to get this all completed, but at this time you will have to wait a bit longer

I also experienced this bug. I was playing around with some of the API commands, and I believe Iâve found a workaround (at least it worked for me).
/run C_GossipInfo.SelectOption(28340)
while Nixxâs dialog was open got this step to progress.

Needs to be this patch dropping on Tuesday. Seems like such a small thing and a lot of people have posted the same issue.
July 9 and still bugged. Blizz needs to get this fixed and has dropped some hotfixes since with, apparently, no progress.
