Shockwave & Dragon/thunderous roar animation

Is it just me that finds these two spells to have heavily underwhelming animations?

First off, the new dragon roar (thunderous roar in DF) says it goes in a frontal cone yet the animation is basically all around the warrior, then theres a dragon head above our character that seems to roar (poor visual), there is no big actual roar sound either.

Then you have shockwave, the classic ability, which has always had the most underwhelming looking animation ever. It is extremely hard to see on the ground especially when you are tanking 5+ mobs in a dungeon with 4 other players throwing colorful abilities everywhere. I would like for the cone to be A LOT more obvious and actually look good, its a pretty important button on a relatively long cooldown that should feel good to press and should LOOK good to press.

I want to main my warrior in DF and after playing with Evokers, it just feels insane how some classes get new abilities that look like they were made after 2020 while warriors are still stuck with animation from classic.

You cant imagine how happy I was in legion when rampage actually had a crazy 5 hit animation (now reduced to 3) or when whirlwind got a new animation.

Warriors big CDs though… they need a new coat of paint IMHO

edit: cant forget about spear of bastion which actually needs an entire new animation that doesnt blind the whole party when it goes off, ive seen this complaint a lot lately and I agree with it, its aesthetic and sound not warrior like at all.

Finally, someone after my own heart

Thunderous Roar could definitely use some more oomph, and I don’t disagree regarding shockwave either.

Also yeah, legion rampage was kinda peak animation

I don’t use Spear of Bastion so I don’t have much of an opinion either way, but I think Recklessness could stand to gain from having an aura or other more intense effects, and Avatar really just needs to be replaced from a visual standpoint IMO (mechanically I think it’s fine, I just HATE how lame it feels to use and look at).

Like when you press Avenging Wrath as a paladin, you aesthetically feel very cool. When I press warrior cooldowns I feel nothing :stuck_out_tongue:

You haven’t pressed avatar+stoneform as a dwarf then. I like being able to step on taurens.

Haha, that is true. I’m not usually a dwarf player, and I think Avatar really only makes thematic sense for them anyways
