Hi. So I’m a very positive guy and like looking at the good in things. BFA was bad but I really liked Drustvar. I think it was incredible.
Shadowlands has been… let’s just say, unpalatable at best. While it is crazy that this expansion has a box price, sub fee and an in game shop, I still think Revendreth music is pretty neat, and while I was first put off Ardenweald when the expansion started, the story was really nice.
Even though this Shadowlands expansion isn’t good at all and all the beta feedback was pretty much ignored, what are the nice things about it that you liked? Thought I’d use the general discussion area to spark some general discussion.

All Blizz had to do is have free swapping covenants at the start and deleted the soul binds system and SL would have probably have been a 7-8/10 of expac.

Leveling characters is a whole lot better now than it used to be.
Maybe eventually I’ll get to play some of them without having to jump through a million hoops first.

Only the concepts of finding 4 types of heaven and one hell ,it gives you a feeling of awesomeness from the get go - though heaven doesn’t seem great at all and hell is disappointing due it being T rated.
Torghast good rogue like concept executed in the most boring manner as possible. There is current game called Anvil much better than Torghast and that has mixed review.

I always like the zones in every expansion, even BfA and SL. Cool aesthetics, interesting cultures and characters, usually enjoyable storylines. The Maw is…well the Maw. But the other four are great in my opinion and did a good job getting to know the people that live there.
Level squish was long overdue and welcome. No major power grinds. I actually though covenants was a neat idea. Flawed and had some issues, but I didn’t mind making lasting choices like that. I hope they never do it again though, so everyone else can simmer down.
I’ve honestly enjoyed SL about the same as any other expansion. It has good points and bad ones, as they all do. My only particular dislike was the unfortunate internal delays that bogged down the usual patch speed, but I get stuff happens and it can’t always be helped.

I wish they would’ve kept the covenant campaign skip. I now have 3 NF toons and I really hate that I have to do the campaign 3 times. I didn’t exactly enjoy it the first time I did it.

I too am extremely positive when seeking positive feedback after getting all the negativity out of the way!
My friends would say that I’m sickeningly positive!! …once the negativity is out of the way.

it's fine for me, but I play like a paying trial account worth of effort. I don't do the vault rewards, pvp is too hard for me outside a random BG, so I just stick to the welfare grinds.

I really enjoyed the Venthyr theme. The Venthyr music made me feel the way WoW’s old music did. Was quite nice, and I LOVED the aesthetic of the Venthyr. It made me think of old school vampires not the silly Twilight stuff. I gave up min maxing with the proper covenant because I liked it so much

I have to 100% agree with you, if Shadowlands had released how it is today it would have been amazing, great catch up for Alts, easy anima, easy covenant switching it would of had a huge different outcome. I think Shadowlands while started off horribly depending how 9.2 is might end up very salvageable.
The problem is, in life you always remember the bad more then good, if you go to a restaurant and got a horrible steak but the dessert was amazing small but great, you’ll always remember how bad that main meal steak was… the bulk of your dining experience.

They made the coolest spells ever for the covenants.
I hate this expansion but for example " the hunt " from DH just visually looks amazing and feels amazing to use.
Really hope whoever made them didnt quit.

All the zones are really good visually and good story lines, except the maw and Korthia. The only down side that puts people off this expansion I think is the EXTREMELY lengthy grinds people felt forced to do to progress. I like Revendreth, my favourate zone of all time is Drustvar too, I love these old classic monster vibe stuff like vampires, witches and wearwolves.

Renown grinds just kill me. Or am i just slow? I finally am gettign near 70 renown on ardenweald and i feel like im doijg alot. And now i have to switch to kyrian or venthyr and i just feel exhausted

You can’t do the Korthia campaign without first doing the covenant campaign.
Which in itself wouldn’t be so bad except you have to do the first chapter of the Korthia campaign to get the hookshot and unlock the additional dailies.
It’s entirely an annoyance, but it’s a completely unnecessary annoyance.
