I do not recall this being a problem in the past, but now it is. With the razer basilisk v3 Pro, about 80% of the time, using mouse button 4 or 5 will automatically cast the Shimmer spell a second time immediately after the first cast. Shimmer is the mages ability that replaces Blink, when you have the talent selected to have a 2nd cast. I have tested this on everything from low DPI of 800, to high DPI of 20,000 and MANY in between and with combinations of polling rates from the lowest 125 hz to the highest 8,000 hz and this occurs. Constant behavior being in cities, to outside of cities, to dungeons and raids alike. Tested in all 3 specs as well. When Shimmer is keybound to a keyboard key, this NEVER occurs. I am going to test if binding mouse 4 or 5 and mapping it to the keyboard shortcut, rather than directly to the action bar resolves this. But wanted to ask if this was a known issue and seen by anyone already.
If shimmer is double casting, then your mouse is double pressing. There are websites to test your mouse for double clicks.
Hmm that’s odd. Currently in game, it is double-casting the shimmer spell…but immediately in any of 4 different websites to test the mouse, it is not showing a double-click. I think there is something with the poll rate that is causing blizzard to think there is two clicks. Also…am I wrong or does spell cast stacking not work in wow like it does in FFxiv? Meaning, you cannot queue up spells to be cast when your current cast ends. So how in the heck would there be a double-click in the first place? It would signify it is not casting immediately, but a split moment after the first cast once the cd is down enough for the 2nd cast to be captured & processed.
