Shifting power

Hey guys im just wondering, Shifting Power is a bad button to press right? Would be nice to recieve a glyph turning it to fiery version for fire, and icy for frost.
Idk as a fire mage, feels weird in visuals and damage, pressing only for -12 cdr.
Sorry about my english, and what do you guys think?

I can say for arcane spell slinger, it is a key button in the rotation as it sends out a ton of splinters that are doubled in surge. To my understanding its one of the highest priority spells in the rotation.

It’s pretty critical for Fire as well, since you live and die by Combustion damage and uptime. Generally want to press it on CD unless Combustion is already up, in which case you’d generally hit it right after. Really good for building back up your Fireblast/PF charges going into Combust/SKB as well.

I’d lower my combustion cd faster by pressing fire blast, fire ball, phoenix flames, scorch and pyroblast while having unleashed inferno talent.

It feels terrible to press for frost, I guess it helps with reducing Orb’s cooldown if you get unlucky and ran out of procs… and that’s about it?

I wish they just went ahead and removed all the Shadowlands abilities - They “made sense” back then but now it’s forced down our throat and is just silly. Covenants should just have been a story/aesthetic decision.

Or just completely rework them and give them a similar spec themed spell, fire/frost/arcane shifting power with special procs like causing ignite hit for 200% on aoe/freeze everything around you with frost and shoot arcane missiles around you for arcane :stuck_out_tongue:

looks like they got the feedback and some changes are on the way for next patch.

  • New Talent: Signature Spell – Choice node with Shifting Shards.
    • Arcane: When Magi’s Spark explodes, you conjure 6 Arcane Splinters.
    • Frost: Consuming Winter’s Chill with Glacial Spike conjures 2 additional Frost Splinters.
