Shift SOD Focus and hire new classic team when?

Those server pop drops are craaazyyy, and still like 25 blue posts a week(of course im exaggerating.) There’s literally 10x the player base on cata right now.

Why not shift attention to what works, balance tanks cause as much as i love being an op dk, playing different tanks makes the game feel fresh in different aspects and that just really isn’t happening in any group that wants to kill heroics.

I thought the idea of the game/peak of cata is to always create balance and wouldn’t something as simple as giving victory rush a relevant cooldown time to deathstrike vs proc on kill make warriors just as relevant as dks? Death strike and victory rush both heal for 20% as is. Could even nerf victory rush IF you wanted to argue prot cds are stronger. its not something that would take weeks of figuring out.

PVP balancing understandable. but for PVE to always be this unbalanced is questionable and takes a lot of fun of the game out for people who love classes/spec that just get )_%# canned in certain phases/expansions. Not to mention pvp pretty much dead, probly safe to say wow is a pve game now lol.

Maybe some mid tier difficulty between normal and heroic or some way to acclimate for more casual players that don’t like to ptr/learn mechanics pre raid as wiping for an entire raid session with those groups are sure to make players quit.

While black temple and things like karazhan/naxx may have not been the HARDEST they did have a few aspects of difficulty that still provided good content/massive player bases. Even if things like ssc/tk were more so my favorite. finding a balance between the simplistic and difficult content would seem logical. naxx- uld for another tier example of diff expansions. togc → icc

Personally, I feel like SoD is a playground for the new devs to learn how to deal with community cultivation and create whatever changes, balance, etc. they would like, but to say, “oh hey, this is working!” and port that over to other versions of the game doesn’t seem like a well thought out idea, imo.

I felt as if we were beta testers so i completely understand what you mean. When the original launch plan was up to level 60 and a raid it was intriguing but they made it world pvp which no one participates in anymore besides a tiny population. That and running around the world at slow speeds to find runes and do annoying rune quests… was just to much open world gaming for a game no one does that in anymore in classic… Was a no brainer dead game to me, glad the proof is here but shame the effort wasnt put into something relevant.

You’re complaining there’s 10x more people on Cata, yet want them to focus on changing Cata?

“Shift attention to what works” what? Why change “what works”?

You are heavily misconstrued if you believe I am complaining about what i hoped to occur, occurring. I am not complaining i am simply stating things can be better and populations would likely be greater if people could play classes they enjoyed more than whats dictated by meta. Even tho i myself play exactly whats meta.

I play in a sweaty and casual environment i just think it would be better overall for the game/community.

Just because something works, doesn’t mean their aren’t aspects of the game that are NOT working properly/scaled fairly… did you look at your justice points cap? conquest being messed up? the release was horrid. Ever try a warrior tank for a heroic? xD what are you defending exactly? The population is here because you know remakes. Keeping them however…

Some of that is bugs that have been fixed some of that is just Cata’s balance. If there’s extreme outliers they’ll probably balance things. But that is the cata experience.

“The game is a mess where you can count on talents, spells, abilities, raid mechanics, quests, phasing, currencies, and more to be bugged, but that’s just the Cata experience” - guy above me :man_facepalming:
