From a purely design perspective, besides the tank issue Solo Shuffle is a completely legitimate bracket. In fact, were the tank issue to be solved I’d say it’d become the premiere bracket over 3s if only because you can’t nearly as easily sell carries in it. Throw in a spec-based ladder and reward system and even in the absence of carries it would, without question, become the default measure of individual skill.
Premade 3v3s might still be the ultimate end-game battleground for prestige, but even that would lessen over time. For any other issues it has, SoloQ is simply a mathematically purer, more competitive ranking format.
what they need to do, is just allow people to see whether its a tank or healer queue before they click accept or leave
tank queue popped? ope guess you’ll either join and play or leave and wait for next queue
also has the added benefit of showing tanks how little that people enjoy queuing arena with them queues for an hour straight seeing 6 tank games
Yeah, because accepting the queue based on whether or not it benefits you is one of those things that’ll always be avoided. I can’t dodge a 3v3 queue because it’s into a comp I dislike or am not favored in.
It’s kinda different though. The idea of showing the healer/tank role is actually really good.
I’d be okay then with tanks being in shuffle because you have the option not to play with them instead of having to role icon/log dodge now

I think a lot of the problem is that “tank” just isn’t a real role in arena without a healer. No one’s forced to attack you. Soaking damage doesn’t mean much when no one’s attacking you. You’re basically a DPS with extra utility.
I’m sympathetic to the tanks who just want to play their favorite spec in a solo rated environment, but replacing healers ruins the experience for everyone else, and the tanks don’t seem to be very sympathetic about that.
Tanks should replace DPS. If they can’t get past 1800 after that, then apparently they need to “adapt.”

increase the rounds to 9 so like 3 of them are tank/healer/dps vs 3 dps, could be really exciting but also wouldn’t alter the overall score negatively /// balanced.
