Shield role mentality

I got to do a field study on a blood shield role knight a few minutes ago.

He was angry because an spriest was being trained by a fury war, a rogue and a bear got locked out and died. “BRO HE SUCKS”

Shield role players forget how you can’t ignore mechanics when you’re not playing class that can’t die.

From a purely design perspective, besides the tank issue Solo Shuffle is a completely legitimate bracket. In fact, were the tank issue to be solved I’d say it’d become the premiere bracket over 3s if only because you can’t nearly as easily sell carries in it. Throw in a spec-based ladder and reward system and even in the absence of carries it would, without question, become the default measure of individual skill.

Premade 3v3s might still be the ultimate end-game battleground for prestige, but even that would lessen over time. For any other issues it has, SoloQ is simply a mathematically purer, more competitive ranking format.

what they need to do, is just allow people to see whether its a tank or healer queue before they click accept or leave
tank queue popped? ope guess you’ll either join and play or leave and wait for next queue
also has the added benefit of showing tanks how little that people enjoy queuing arena with them
queues for an hour straight seeing 6 tank games

Yeah, because accepting the queue based on whether or not it benefits you is one of those things that’ll always be avoided. I can’t dodge a 3v3 queue because it’s into a comp I dislike or am not favored in.

It’s kinda different though. The idea of showing the healer/tank role is actually really good.
I’d be okay then with tanks being in shuffle because you have the option not to play with them instead of having to role icon/log dodge now

Whats crazy is the support role isn’t new to pvp or anything.

Apex, Dota, smite, league, overwatch etc etc

I stand blizzard f’ing up when they got rid of glad stance.

That could have been a way for tanks to be somewhat healthy for PvP besides FCing

I think a lot of the problem is that “tank” just isn’t a real role in arena without a healer. No one’s forced to attack you. Soaking damage doesn’t mean much when no one’s attacking you. You’re basically a DPS with extra utility.

I’m sympathetic to the tanks who just want to play their favorite spec in a solo rated environment, but replacing healers ruins the experience for everyone else, and the tanks don’t seem to be very sympathetic about that.

Tanks should replace DPS. If they can’t get past 1800 after that, then apparently they need to “adapt.”

Anyone who plays a tank in PvP is 9 times outta 10 too stupid to play anything else :rofl::joy: keep acting like you’re some new wave genius playing a tank in arenas it’s hilarious. Why dont you adapt to how it’s actually meant to be played? Instead of telling others to adapt to your bastardized version of arenas?

also i still want the idea of 1 tank 1 healer 4 dps matches tested :eyes:
increase the rounds to 9 so like 3 of them are tank/healer/dps vs 3 dps, could be really exciting but also wouldn’t alter the overall score negatively /// balanced.
