Shen'dralar Rep - Why was it removed?

Title, basically. Does anyone know why the rep was removed? Did Blizzard ever state why they removed it?

From a story perspective, I believe that the survivors merged back with the Night Elves (thus explaining Night Elf mages.)

But I think mostly it’s just a casualty of all of the stuff that got removed in Cata in the old world revamp.

Thanks.

That’s too bad. I hate to see things removed from the game like that.

They probably took it out because of the Dire Maul dungeon revamp.

It was kind of a horribly designed rep grind and it made getting the Insane title just dumb.

They could have just removed it form the achievement. I think they shoot themselves in the foot when they do this sort of thing. If someone wanted to grind it out, that’s in-game time played.

Reworked the dungeon.

Not really.

There’s like decades worth of other stuff for them to work on.

Oh no, they are

Partially because of story, partially because of how the entirety of those dungeons were revamped and the rep items were removed/revamped, along with the head slot rewards.

Here’s how it used to work to see what it all entailed and what happened once they revamped the dungeon:

Said like someone who didn’t do the Insane when it was still hard lol.

The word you’re looking for is tedious, not hard.

Well, yeah. That’s the whole achievement. And most achievements in wow.

Not really the point, friend.

Elucidate the point for me.

Was Shen’dralar not a horribly designed rep grind? Was it well designed and challenging? Shen’dralar was the worst part of it, worse than the other steps easily.

Is there a single rep grind that was

It’s a rep grind, not a raid. LOL

Am I saying that there was? My point being that it turned an already tedious grind into a superlatively tedious grind. The point was not that, “taking Shen’dralar out turned Insane into a challenging, fun, and well designed achievement”, the point was “Shen’dralar was a badly designed rep grind, and it made Insane worse”. That’s all.

It’s almost like that’s the exact point of the feat.

Apparently not, since they made it less tedious and took Shen’dralar out and removed it from its list of requirements rather than making Insane an unachievable FOS.

Yeah, hardly insane. Maybe it should’ve just gone the way of Arena Master.
