She killed Varok Saurfang

Let’s not forget that the edgy lady killed Saurfang. All of that for nothing? All of that to se Thrall being a crybaby, Garrosh a pile of ashes, and the banshee get redeemed?

To be fair, Garrosh died (again) the way he lived: unrepentant, murderous, and angry.

It was kind of perfect.

She never landed a blow on him. He cleaved so hard he sent himself into next expansion.

True that.

I’m tired of Sylvanas and her edgyness. Makes for good embarrassment.

I don’t know how to feel with the story, I hate complaining, but I also really wonder if Sylvanas is liked by the devs.

If I liked a character, I’d not write her like that. Zooval is possibly the most clear villain to be a villain, and when you have a 18 yo guy asking you that how can you be so sure you’re not another one of his weapons, it says a lot.

What did she really expect of a guy who is making souls serve, chaining, and forcing Anduin to serve? Or what will Blizz do with the new soul? Say that she was another Sylvanas?

Shadowlands story is not bad, but woa, Sylvanas’ story is terrible, she sometimes looks like a 7D chess player and some others look to have the IQ of an Orc Peon in the Valley of Trials.

Couldn’t agree more. I really loved the Sylvanas character before… Now just seems like a dumb and edgy teenager who wants to rebel against their parents.

That same childish character, killed Varok Saurfang… Second greatest warrior of the Horde, and brother to the first greatest warrior of the Horde and the WoW history: Broxigar.
I’m sad you know…

The devs said she was not going to be another Garrosh and they delivered that promise. Garrosh accepted everything and took all responsibility of it even in his last breath.

I am not against redeeming Sylvanas or finding a really good excuse for what she did, but this is not the way, lol. Though I know next to nothing because we mostly know nothing from the story yet.

As for Saurfang, indeed. I hope Blizzard does not waste his sacrifice with another faction war carried out for silly reasons or without an important motive.

one of the head writers is literally a Sylvanas simp, to the point he co-opted an existing character into his own self-insert

This is exactly what I mean. They killed Saurfang in order to justify a crappy character development for Sylvanas.

Saurfang challenged her to a mak’gora. Only one of them was going to walk away. For that Sylvanas can’t really be blamed for accepting the duel. He started it.

Saurfang wanted to die anyways. He’s been looking for someone to defeat him for years now. This is a good end for his character.

It wasn’t for nothing though. Saurfang did accomplish revealing her nature and forcing her to leave the Horde, while avoiding a costly battle in Orgrimmar. The Horde was able to reform and gain a future because of him. So they killed him for the Horde’s development, not for hers in SL.

He died the way orcs wanna die. With honor etc, etc  Also just here for the Sylvanas haters to post stuff for me to laugh at.

She’s being made look like a fool.

Is that, or they wanted to find a reason to redeem her at the last moment after all this. I don’t know. But making her force people to serve, be tricked by the most obvious villain who was caged by forces beyond her comprehension for a reason, reason she could see in the Maw, and then be like “I don’t want to serve” is a disservice to her character in my opinion. It is even worse because I think she is victim of the real threat, the Human Potential that bends lore to crazy levels, because she somehow felt bad for Anduin when she did worse things that mind controlling people (which she also likely did on others).

How do you redeem that without making her look bad?

I think this was mostly for the Horde, as they got a council and all that. Hoping this changes the conflicts and the Warchief roulette. It is a big change in my opinion, can be good or bad depending how Blizz does it.

But caused by Saurfang. I just hope he’s not in the Maw and if he is, that we rescue him and bring him to his son and brother. I’d not mind a questline of reuniting the three.

I never saw it from that perspective, interesting, thank you!

The joke around Silvermoon, is that she could never handle a good cleaving. Rumor anyways lol.

No one said the writer responsible was good

If they were, Sylvanas wouldn’t be getting a redemption story in the first place. If they were a good writer, Sylvanas wouldn’t be in a position to need a redemption story. Sylvanas in the early days was an amazing character, but then they started turning her into a saturday morning cartoon villain, but they can’t make her unrepentantly evil like Garrosh either because “muh waifu”

Saurfang got what he deserved, and wanted. Death. There are numerous reasons I don’t like Sylvanas, but killing Saurfang ain’t one of em.

This last part breaks my heart.

Saurfang wanted death though. She gave him the exact kind of death he wanted so I don’t really find an issue with it.
