Shattering Throw

I would like to first note that I am happy to receive this ability back. It has been something needed (along with untalented stormbolt/stun…) . But it does feel that this ability was designed for another time and age.

Having to stand still for 1.5 seconds to throw a projectile feels weak. Often times Paladins and other classes will get behind a corner before the cast is complete or they will be able to cast high speed heals before the cast completes. It doesn’t have any effect (from what I can see) on hunter turtle shield, monk karma or other class defensives. I have made good use of it for iceblock mages.

I will admit I have not adequately tested the 500% damage on absorb shields and it may have a niche here that I have not realized (maybe edging a shield so damage bleeds over?). I also do not know whether an anti-magic shell absorb will count to trigger the 500%.

With this in mind, I feel that the cast time should be reduced or it should be castable while moving. It often feels that by using this tool I have already stopped applying pressure and fulfilled my opponents goal already.

Am I wrong on this? Any other opinions?

I think I’m just extremely grateful to have it back and am fine with it as is. That’s just me, though. I’d rather have it the way it is than not have it all.

How dare they have a counterplay. They should be forced to sit there and have their bubble popped.

the skill wipe bubbles, turtles and ice blocks. Casting time is good imo

I used it on a Hunter for testing and it did not remove his Turtle.

I’ve popped more bubbles, ice blocks, even BoPs than not. I think it’s fine.

True. Tried it last night, that class is BS - 6 sec trap, slow trap, slow shot, bump shot, turtle, disengage, heal…

Their dmg is absolutely insane but if you can quick stun/CC them and disarm, go to town, switch when they turtle and finish them after turtle expires they’re paper dragons !

Didn’t mean to post on my lowbie hehe

Is it worth using on anything other than bubble and iceblock or should you specifically save it for those?

Pretty sure it doesn’t wipe turtle.

Man, it’s too bad no one pointed that out three days ago.

Shattering Throws can turn the tide in pvp.

When it comes to frost mages, it’s more easier to use with the cast timer being at 1.5 seconds. Popping their Ice block and watching them just stand there (maybe in shock) before they are killed is priceless.

When it comes to a pally, it’s a little more hectic then mages. In arenas you need almost some space and time to cast it. (Some times I will use it on a BoPed teammate more then the pally or if I’m not the paladin’s main focus then on him.)

I do feel the 1.5 sec cast time is fine honestly, making it where we can move as a QoL would make it better in PvP over PvE.

Something something, 1.5 sec cast time is balance something something l2p issue

Well…I suppose if you want to make this change. Get yourself the following legendary.

Norgannon’s Sagacity.

This just might make it so that you can cast while moving and if you are Venthyr you can cast the Door of Shadows while moving too.

Unless it doesn’t apply to warrior abilities.

Hunters have one defensive, and they can’t attack during it. As a warrior and hunter player I have zero issue with this.

Glad throw is back but it doesn’t and shouldn’t just break anything just because OP wants it to…
