I’ve been playing a very long time. I have a lot of fond memories from WoW - my first pink haired gnome Run for the Cure … raids on faction bosses (when they were actually difficult) … giving away gold to people, just for the heck of it…

One of my favorite cute memories though, was when I was leveling yet another femme dorf Paladin through WoD, I think. I was tanking, and I queued up for LFD. Got into Black Fathom Deeps.
Cool, no big deal, I think. I’ve run this dungeon a million times before. The thing is, none of the rest of my party had ever run it before. In fact, they were ALL new to WoW.

It ends up that we wipe (healer was learning, it’s all good), and the dps lived. While I herded the healer back to the dungeon itself and we ran back, the rest of the group decided to /sit down in a circle, around a campfire they lit.

When we made it back to them, I found them singing in /say, “Kumbaya”. When I asked if they were ready to head off, they said yeah and, “We were scared of going by ourselves and waited for you, so you could protect us.”

I will tank for groups like that any day of the week, no matter how many wipes we have.

What your best memorey

My best memory was from back in the early days of LK xpax. I was Horde at the time on Blackrock in a guild called “Sup Fresh our turn Baby”. It was actually Byrons guild (Reckful) god rest his soul. We were in wintergrasp and had one of our Guildies on an Alliance Hunter that he didnt care about. Right as the Alliance raid got the wall down and started pushing the keep he turned on “Aspect of the Pack”. EVERYONE suddenly became Dazed. It was pure pandemonium! Multiple people created forum post in outrage and due to the fact that no one looked at their buffs we were even accused of Hacking lol!

This worked so well at winning us Wintergrasp we did it a few times. People were so mad that we finally attracted a GMs attention. A GM sent our Guildy a tell saying “Look I have 30 reports within the past 2min. What are you doing to make these players so mad?” He replied simply with “I am just using Aspect of the Pack! I am trying to make everyone move faster!” The GM chuckled and said “Lucky for you this is an aspect of the game and you are not exploiting a glitch; however what you are doing is highly disruptive and is effecting everyone elses game play and I would kindly ask you to stop”. Well James had quite a mouth on him and told the GM “this is a PvP server and I am pvping. If you didnt want this happening dont put it in your game”.

As you can guess this did not go well for us. Me and all our guildies involved found our selves in the Detention room at next login. Which was basically a gray box that there was no way out of. So we turned that night into a dance party in the box, told jokes and just chilled all night.

Good Times

This is one of the best stories ever! Thanks so much for sharing it! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

And this is the 2nd best.

Detention Box Dance Party needs to find its way into the game like The Secret Cow Level in DII.

The reason why hunters no longer have aspect of the pack is because it was abused in Ashran so much.

Man there are way to many memories to choose from, so many people i met and bonded with over the years, i suppose my favorite memory now is meeting one of my old guildies who introduced me to 4 of my now closest friends, we have our own discord and spend most of our days together, We all support each other, and they have been the sole reason i have made it through this pandemic! Thanks for hosting this, and giving me a chance to share that <3

BFA was when 5 of us average players decided to group up once a week & see what we can do. Mechagon hard mode was something which really brought us together. By the time we ran it the 5th time to get the last mount for our bunch we were fine tuned to the smallest interrupt. A couple of bosses before the last boss is when we realised that none of us had died even once. The achievement was a possibility. Last boss with the callouts was always an issue. Managed one, then the 2nd, then 3rd & then 4th. Boss about to die. Boss died… and the puny mortal flew down for a final spank. Sadly, one beam was still pointing at the healer. He & I decided to move in opposite directions. We crossed. I died a second before the boss died.

We obviously got the achievement later when it became trivial. We got ksm which at the time was big for us. But, for the next 6 months, a few seconds before every achievement this always came up. I don’t think any of us look back at any of our achievements as fondly as we look back to this failure.

What time if my happiest memory is when there were no store mounts?

I am trying to think of anything that really sets other memories apart, but I always go back to riding the boat from Stormwind into the Harbor at Howling Fjord.

The music, the ambience, and the quests captivated so many feelings. I had just come from playing years of Skyrim and its mod Enderal.

I’ve always been intrigued by dwarven/dwemer stuff and it seems to follow along with Scandinavian-esque themes. I don’t play dwarves, but that lore is by far some of the best.

Anyhow, Howling Fjord and it’s music and scenes were just amazing, haunting, and sad. I’m a strange person in that I like all things melancholy.

I’ve had other experiences, but nothing really stands out like that first visit.
