Sharding launch Don't complain,investigate!

So, big thing happening right now is the mass of people complaining about how classic servers will be sharded, prolly so the max you would see is 20-40 players per zone. This is the way it is on live at least, and this is what is to be expected on launch.

But I understand the complaints of why some see this as an issue on launch. Specifically for cities/openings. Would you rather see the glorious city of stormwind filled with citizens all around? Or would you rather walk into a western desert town where all the folks hide inside?

This is only for launch after all...But how would you migrate sharding into the launch. *And before you say it, 'You don't' Doesn't help your case. Only makes it worst.*

Aim for a number. Yeah yeah, we know that having thousands in one server can cause meltdowns all across the board, and no one wants to wait 2HRS to play. But it's necessary...But how hard do we need it?

Sharding of 40?

80?

100?

300?

What number would satisfy you for logging into Elywnn forest on the first day?

You only for launch guys don't seem to realize that the situation they're using sharding to address isn't specific to launch. You're forgetting world pvp raids which skyrocket zone populations well beyond normal levels, and god help us when the AQ gates open. That one was far worse than classic's launch in terms of congestion and stability.
"Brack is clear that using modern server architecture doesn’t mean that these Classic servers will have the same features that current World of Warcraft does. There won’t be cross-realm servers or Looking For Raid and Dungeon Finder automatic party matchmaking. There’s still a lot of questions about how the team will tackle it, but Brack says they’re committed to recreating an authentic Vanilla World of Warcraft experience. "One of the tenets of Classic WoW is none of the cross-server realms and different [server] sharding options that we have available to us today. There’s a lot of desire on part of the community that this is something that they don’t want."

prolly so the max you would see is 20-40 players per zone.

You'd most likely see 0-5 players in each area that is how it was like in live while in war mode.

You'd see 0-5 players per-zone due to the fact of the landscape/terrain of the place, especially Zuldazar, they were certainly zones that were not meant for sharding. But this is why I ask the question.

But I do agree with you, pass launch, sharding is not necessary.

And what you don't seem to understand is Ion said once servers communities stabilize, ie everyone not being in the same 6 zones on every server, they're going to turn sharding off. And it's only going to be in the starting zones. Once you get out of the starting zone, no more sharding and after a few weeks it'll be turned off in starting zones as well.
