Sharding kills community and server identity

Dead =/= low population. I shoulda clarified this more.

My server went from low-pop to pretty much dead, and there was almost nothing to do. Far as I recall, only one guild could even get a raid going.

I was on a server that merged. It 100% kills it no ands ifs or buts. Server merges kill servers way more limited sharding ever would

No. They said off except player drivsn evenfs abd rge like. So tell me how come I’m seeing sharding when i go out to do wq?

Because they said that current content would have sharding.

Think extra hard about this one really quick.

Rp servers are only supposed to have sharding during events. So explain how I’m being sharded at 530 am.

530 am est, no player driven events in the area

I’m going to give you another try.

Think REALLY hard this time.

I even gave you a hint (it’s bolded)

Well the thing about that, is that sharding without CRZ wouldn’t do anything for a dead server on its own.

That said, I disagree with you since you can’t separate CRZ with sharding (far as I know) and both together make a server community highly improbable. Sharding a dead server would do nothing, but the second you introduce random players from random/selected servers, the sense of permanence is gone.

From my experience, server mergers only kill when it’s with a much larger server.

So world quests are now a player driven event?

Wow you’re really giving blizzard a lot of slack.

That’s literally what a player driven event is… what do you think a player driven event means exactly?

There are still limits, of course; we don’t want playing on an RP realm to mean you can’t properly experience core game content due to low FPS or heavy input lag. As such, all Legion zones (including all of the Broken Isles, the Broken Isles version of Dalaran, and soon, Argus) will still have sharding active, as they do on non-RP realms

Wat? You know they are two completely different things that are not linked at all correct?

I have had this conversation with him at least 4 times and linked him that. He is going to ignore it, just watch.

City raid, world pvp between two large groups, etc. Something that means lots of people in the area.

When I’m doing wq with maybe 20 people around, tell me why that needs sharding?

How the F would I know, I don’t work for blizzard. All I know is that they are literally doing exactly what they said they were going to do. If you don’t like it, that’s fine. But don’t go running around like a moron screaming “THEY LIED TO US”.

They didn’t lie they straight up told you it was going to happen.

They specifically said that current content zones would be sharded. I linked the blue post.

Tell me how I’m experiencing lag with around 20 people tops in the area?

My post clearly states that they are different things.

I haven’t played BfA, but from what I’ve seen they work together. Zones are sharded to limit players inside; players from multiple servers.

Am I wrong? If everyone is on the same server feel free to correct me.

Are you serious. HOW. WOULD. I. KNOW. We are not arguing whether or not you should be sharded we are arguing whether or not they said they would do it. Which they did tell you they would, so you shouldn’t be surprised when they do it.
