Just curious if anyone has heard what or if Blizzard will do anything about sharding. It sucks to see so many people around me yet no one is there.

It happens at every expansion launch. They enable it temporarily to keep the server stable. When the crowds return to a normal level, it will be disabled. It was 2-3 weeks before, I think. Probably will be sometime after the full launch on the 28th.

The only current workaround is getting your friends and/or like-minded RPers making parties/raids so that you’re plunged into hopefully a more populated Shard. Assuming the leader of said party/raid has it.

Yeah sharding is something that happens every expansion and is needed. Without sharding right now, you won’t be able to RP anyway because the lag would be so bad.
If I am not mistaken, it usually lasts for about 6 to 8 weeks once pre patch goes live. So it will probably be like this till Christmas. I know people love RPing in Stormwind, but there are other towns you can go to. Boralus las loads of RP Spots and you also have Ironforge which is almost always empty and is just a Tram Ride away.

Boralus has to be one of the most beautifully designed cities in this game. Stormwind always feels like the Medieval Village at Canada’s Wonder Land but Boralus feels like an actual city with posh areas and dangerous slums. I think overall visually MoP was the best designed expansion as far as the artwork goes but the city of Boralus is the best zone in the entire game.
