Ok, I am stuck at renown 79 on my druid and I noticed none of the quests are offering renown any longer. Rescue souls, or the callings. I’ve also done a dozen heroics and comp stomp with no renown dropping, where it was before.
I have completed all NINE chapters of the campaign
When I mouse over my 79 renown it says continue campaign or WEEKLY QUESTS
When I searched online it seemed to confirm that Shaping Fate is required.
Can anyone confirm or deny this? I may just wait until the anima quest comes back on Tuesday because I die a LOT in korthia with only 190 gear and no friends

Did you do a lot of farming yesterday? I seem to have hit some sort of daily hard cap myself. I was able to hit 80 with NF and NL with catch-up renown being my final rank.

I did chapter 3 of the Venthyr campaign yesterday and didn’t get renown from it, so I’m minding my P’s and Q’s and waiting for daily reset to keep going.

How did you get renown past 70? I havent got any from comp stomp or heroics since I hit 70. Campaign is done.
ya I think the formula for when you get it is very mysterious.
I did 5 comp stomps and got none and then 3 in a row
but then once I hit 79 I got none.
someone said to open your renown page where all the rewards are listed, then mouse over the top, it will show you what its waiting on
if it says something about “weekly quest” then its waiting on that.
also check to see if you have any quests started that reward renown, I think it counts those started quests as renown you WOULD get if you completed it
kind of hard to predict.

All of this goes HARD against what Blizzard sold as a free and easy swap from Covenants.
It also goes against the GD trope of LOL you can get max renown in a day or 3. No you can’t.
On the top part of the Renown screen mine says (paraphrasing): Complete weekly quests to progress your renown.
But under that it says “gain renown by participating in dungeons, pvp, callings ,killing raid bosses”.
I completed at least 4 heroics, 5 comp stomps and got nothing. So something isn’t working correctly. Also why do I need to comb the internet to figure this out?
And JUST as I typed this out, the first comp stomp I did of today gave me one. LOL. Dailies haven’t reset so I don’t get it. Edit: 2/2 now.

You could also join a group for the world boss in the maw if you havent already. Your gear wont really matter there, but getting there might be a pain

Nope, just did the Maw World Boss and no renown either, and I had NOT previously done it
I will just wait until Tuesday
I THINK it wants me to do shaping fate but I havent started it yet, so easier for me to just wait for Tuesday and then try the anima weekly
I simply want to get started on my other alts but need 80 on this character, so frustrating

I was able to get my renown up to 79 via comp stomp, the last renown needed to come from shaping fate in korthia. I’m working on the next cov now and I’m hoping since shaping fate has already been done this week, comp stomp will allow me to go all the way to 80.
Comp stomp feels like a 20% renown rate. I can go 10 games without getting any, but sometimes I’ll get 2 or 3 in a row. Still fun to do so I don’t mind. Get lots of other things as well while grinding it.
Yep, you’ll need to do that or wait for reset. You can’t get bonus renown if the two weeklies that guarantee it (Shaping Fate and Replenish the Reservoir) will get you to the cap.
Shaping fate takes like a half hour, why not just do it?

Well if i had a max level horde with good gear i would do that with ya, unfortunately ive got all my alliance decently geared, just now working on horde
Considering Shaping Fate is one of the weeklies that still gives Renown, yes. The only two weeklies you’ll get Renown from once you hit current Renown levels are Shaping Fate and Replenish the Reservoir.
No it doesn’t. Swapping Covenants no longer requires time gating or a quest now. Gaining anything with them was NEVER said to be “free” or “easy.”

very much this the WBs usually give reknown regardless or you could just wait for a rare to spawn abd kill/tag it the WB also give 25% to the weekly

Do the shaping fate weekly and korthia activities because you can get gear from korthite armaments as well as gold from selling korthite crystals. You can often avoid mobs by just collecting chests and mushrooms. Also kill the rares because there is always a group so you don’t have to do it yourself.

My life expectancy isn’t much longer at 199 (main bmhunter.) Unfortunately whatever gear is supposed to be dropping is dripping for me. Heck, I’d take one drip.
And it shouldn’t be, if I wanted to play puzzle games I would, tell me what the heck is going on.

I know. Two little issues though. Usually no one is on at the same time, and honestly don’t want to embarrass myself! Haven’t been back playing steadily enough.
The best time to get these rares (not sure where most are despite add-on) is at night or weekends - the two most difficult times for me to play.
I’ll try next time I see you on D. or greenlit in game.
