Shapeshifting change? - SOLVED

Hey druids - I found today that I am unable to shift directly from main forms to travel form. I get a message on my screen: “You are in shapeshift form”. I am forced to leave the form and then go to travel form. Also, I can’t cast heal spells, hearthstone, fishing, etc. directly while in bear or cat form - these actions should take you to noform. I cannot do these actions without leaving form first. This seems to have changed today. Yesterday and for as long as I can remember, it has worked.

I have tried unloading all addons, different druids on different servers, different computers, fresh install. Still, shapeshifting seems to be blocked.

Anybody else seeing this?

SOLVED

  • There is a setting in your config-cache.wtf file that is causing this problem if you have it. Find it here: “World of Warcraft_retail_\WTF\Account[account]”
  • Change the SET autoUnshift “0” to SET autoUnshift “1”
  • This is a server side setting so even if you deleted your WTF folder it would still be broken! So, change it manually.

I’m not sure why this started after the hotfix, but this worked for me.

I had a werid issue last night where I can charge on druid. Said I have to be in travel form… log back in this monring and it was fix. Is weird coz even I looked the abilities in the character list it even said charge travel form…

No idea - If you are in mount form (the one that can be mounted by another player), you can’t go directly to travel form, however you should be able to from any other form.

You’ve never been able to do this as far as I know.

Hm. Well, I have macros that I have been using for ages which cast rejuv to take myself out of bear. Those suddenly don’t work today.

Oh you should be able to do that. I thought you meant literally fishing while in cat form. That provided for a comical image!

They were working on a bug that allowed druids to shift out of form to skip a mechanic in Nathria - may have had some downwind impacts.

Cannot get out of Bear or Cat directly to Travel form…you have to go bear, human, then travel. Among a bunch of other quality of life things like not being able to mount from bear or cat.

Hey Krowley - The only thing I can think of is that there is something at the account level blocking this. Others are unaffected.

Out of curiosity, do you have the Grizzlemaw appearence unlocked? I tinkered with resetting appearences at barber, but it didn’t have an effect.

Yeah this issue isn’t happening to me, I can still shift in/out of travel into other forms directly and vice versa.

Yes I have Grizzlemaw form. I have a druid on alliance and horde and it is happening on both unable to go from Bear or Cat directly into travel.
I only have blizzard UI and does same thing. In travel form I could run up to any place to fish and automatically switch to human form. Now I manually have to switch. This is so annoying.

I can shift from travel into Bear or Cat just not the reverse.

Can’t craft in any form but human, just tried to do cooking and same issue. This has made my druid so frustrating to play now.

Just had this crap happen to me and was able to fix it by deleting the config-cache file’s in WTF/Account/“accountname” and deleting it so i did not lose any other config of my game.

Deleting the game entirely also solves the issue.

Thanks, this happened with today’s reset. I thought it was a way to slow down Druids. Glad it wasn’t design change.

Now I want to fish in bear form. Sitting there with my pole in paws.

Sorry to necro, but in addition to trouble changing forms i’ve suddenly noticed today a marked increase in getting dazed. I don’t remember ever having trouble being dazed much in travel form no matter my spec, and today doing WQ as boomkin, it was a near constant daze trying to run through an herbing wq with mobs in it. Has anyone else noticed a change?
