Can Enhancement shaman get the ability to use one handed swords? It would be nice for both transmog reasons and it would be nice to have the same amount of weapons types available as other duel wielding agility dps specs.
If Thrall refuses to use a perfectly good sword in the maw, neither can you.
That’s also his personal preference. A Vulpera shaman would have used any of those weapons.
That wouldn’t look or feel very shamanistic. However, I get your point (no pun intended), about expanding the range of weapons.
It’s all about the heft.
Ma boy Thrall likes a weapon with some girth to it. No skinny sword will do.
I just wanna use a 2 hander.
But otherwise you just gotta make it look good:
Thrall has always been *overcompensating *.
It will always really really really bug me that Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker - one of the most shaman like weapons in the game literally pulsing with lightning…
CANNOT be equipped by Shaman. Like surely, there could be an exception?
The most shamanistic weapon type would be a spear or staff that we can’t use either.
Shamans are primal, they don’t use edge blades, Thrall literally tells you why the Alliance are fantasied about swords in the Maw
Shaman origin came from the Horde, Horde likes Axes and maces
That’s that
Did someone say…
THUNDERFURY, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker ?
Ah, good times in trade chat. Now for some Chuck Norris!
There is nothing in lore about shaman not using bladed weapons, which they currently do, axes (and some fist weapons). Thrall himself doesn’t like swords and doesn’t relate to why others might prefer them but other orcs used them to great effectiveness: the orcish blademasters.
Blademasters are not shamans
Orcish shamans use maces and axes, axes because the Hordes weaponry were mostly… Axes
A shaman isn’t a high plated gear warrior, they are primal totemic warriors with the power of the elements
Yes but you claim that the reason shaman don’t use swords stems from horde preferring axes and maces.
Trolls, Draenei, Vulpera, Kul’tirans, Dwarves, and Tauren all developed shamanism independently from Orcs and each should have their own cultures taken into consideration when deciding what weapons their shared class can use.
Earthen Rings rule too as well, it’s literally primal group
No lore about the Earthen Ring states anything about what weapons they can or cannot use. It was started by Tauren who later let the Orcs of the New Horde join in order to help them reconnect with their shamanistic roots. It was also the Earthen Ring who convinced the New Horde that it had a duty to allow the forsaken to join the Horde.
Nor are they magi.
Yet a Blademaster hath Mirror Image.
At one point long ago the devs considered giving shaman access to one-handed swords (for some reason it was a choice between that, giving DKs access to fist weapons, or giving rogues access to one-handed axes). They ultimately went with the rogues (not surprising since they were incredibly biased toward the class at the time). Yeah…real great decision there…such a befitting weapon for them…so many rogues running around wielding axes these days, let me tell you.
he didnt refuse to use one, he just held on to it until he found a better one. he was capable of holding and swinging it, same with pole arms and the new Element hunter class using cross bows.
