Really hoping that Shaman gets some more love going forward. With the awesome additions to Resto D and Feral i think they will outshine shaman in all roles except maybe ranged casting. Curious on if you guys agree or not. Very split on what I should play between the two as main because I love both play styles and want to lean towards the most helpful for my teammates.
TLDR with current changes seems like Druid will do everything shaman can do but better and with less effort.

Yeah, pretty much. I didn’t realize going back to Classic would also mean Blizzard would go back to hating Shaman…

I think they have, with dual wield we can see a reason to go above 9/6% hit needed. And with mana problems solved we will see people able to max rank shock which will be better than casting rank 1 earth and hoping for a clearcast.
So you really think that Enhancement shaman will be equal or better than Druid in both PVP/PVE? Shamans are going to get kited into oblivion and have the inconvenience of having to remember to drop totems over and over for allies. I would love to see a 4 totem drop and recall added. Biggest reason I love classic in Wrath but less so in Classic and TBC

Which is why you need to stick to the main battle group as some classes do well solo and in groups the offense dispel is a good thing.
Edit: some classes can do well in solo I think mage comes to mind given frost has slows and defenses against both melee and casters as does shadow. Melee generally have to spread out a bit to avoid aoe, but generally want to just find a meme caster or heal and just zug.
I believe that after they see the reality of shaman that they will make adjustments.
Remember they can easily implement anything from Classic - Retail and just plug it in this phase or the next.
Play what you like and I am betting it is viable.
But I confess I am an original Druid player… hard luck cases are my downfall.
I don’t necessarily agree, enh dps definitely will be lackluster at 25 due to not having WF but resto and tank are looking very solid.
Resto got something infinitely better than a bunch of hots, they got MANA! that was shamans biggest weakness in classic and if you so choose you can run water shield + shamanistic rage to completely remove your mana bar from the equation, that’s absurdly strong.
Furthermore, you later gain chain heal which when paired with overload is basically giving you insane raid wide throughput.
If that’s not enough, we also have to consider that shammies will be getting a lot of other runes later on, some datamining shows there’s an earthliving weapon imbue, a totem of wrath and possibly riptide coming later on.
Now onto tanks. Given what we’ve seen on the demo and from esfand’s feedback who actually tested tanking in bfd, it seems to be insanely powerful threatwise, shaman’s threat was so high they had to nerf the rune from 100% to 50% threat.
Also , shaman has a lot better aoe threat than druid in general, even if druid ends up being a better single target tank later , shaman will always have that niche ( similar to paladins).
Finally, regarding enh vs feral dps. datamining again shows possible maestrom mechanics being added later on which when paired with WF might make enh no less competitive of a dps than feral.
If you’d like a TL;DR : stop whining and play what you like instead of worrying about meta and fomo, you’ll see that both classes are going to be equally viable and in demand.
I’m actually gonna end up rolling Druid this time around, but with Wild Growth having such a HUGE mana cost (26-28% I believe?) I’m hoping they get some sort of consistent Clearcasting effect, or at least some killer “Reduce healing spell cost” talents. Especially since they don’t get Innervate til 28 or something
