There was a video of a shaman that took hatefuls on Gruul but I think that was it.
Yup, so unless you have a time machine the opportunity to tank HKM, Gruul, or Mag has now passed.
Why does any of that matter? The thread is about a shaman tanking Kara.

Point is, people had something they wanted to prove and nobody proved it. Probably because tanking HKM, Gruul, or Mag was never going to be achievable.
It’s just the way the game works and class kits work.
Believe me, I’ve tanked on Kuma. I know what it’s like to take huge hits from bosses even at 75% DR. Then I think about tanking with Kanshu. Mail Armor at 10% more from Toughness. No Stamina talents. Block avoidance is set and can’t be modified by Redoubt or Shield Block.
That’s not tenable.
And like was telling Fasc, I think that could all be worked out if Blizzard got creative. Things like…

5/5 Toughness increases Stamina by 10%, Armor contribution by 25%.

Stoneskin Totem decreases all damage taken by 10% (only affects the Shaman), but slows Attack Speed by 10%.

Stomstrike generates more threat and increases chance to Block by 50% if holding a Shield.

Rockbiter generates threat.
I don’t think I have seen anyone say there were going to set up a 25 raiding team with a shammy tank to prove anything in this thread.

That is still not them saying they are going to go find a shammy tank, that is just saying they think the guild that ran this could do it.
Then you’re absolutely correct. I cannot find a single quote from anyone saying the exact words you mentioned.
Pretty sure they can go back and still kill those.
And they still cleared Kara, even though you probably dismiss that.
Expansions not done yet either turbo…
They still have Hyjal and BT, and ZA.
Wouldn’t count for anything since the content has been nerfed, unless we’re going to start celebrating someone soloing ZG and Dire Maul and such… LOL
Everything hits harder moving forward, whereas Shaman lag further and further behind all of the other Tanks. Rage Winterchill is going to smash a Shaman to bits, let alone an actually hard hitting boss like Gurtogg or Gorefiend.

It is quite clear that the elitist community is killing WoW by sucking the fun out of everything.

When Bonerover started the thread, I took it as “look what I found…that’s a kinda cool sort of thing!”
And it is! Having 10 people working together to pull this off…with very creative raid structure to boost EH, healing output, and TPS generation to make it all possible, with a little luck thrown in, was something they should be proud of.
I would have never posted if it was left like that, but it wasn’t.
Shaman tanking is compared with Druid tanking for a reason, 15% crushing blows with no way to reduce them. Using Resil gear to reach uncrittable, thereby lowering avoidance values…which Bears eventually overcome. And having no Defensive stance or Block or variant of either.
*However a Shaman in Tier 4 / S1 is about 11k AC…less than half of a comparably geared Druid.
*Shaman have 30% less avoidance than a Bear due to Resil stacking and no AGI gems.
*Shaman have no class based STA modifiers outside of a 5% racial…that also exists to Horde Druids.
Shaman will take twice the DTPS levels of a comparably equipped Bear, and will take a back to back crushing blows 2.25% of the time, every ~44s against a mob hitting every 2s.
In Tier 5 that means luck will be involved. I would love it if Blizzard changed it to make Shaman stronger…but instead they put threat reduction on Parry…

It’s my thread and shamans can tank whatever content they desire. Thankfully your opinion means just as much as mine.
