Arugal, a 35% Alliance, 65% Horde server with roughly 10k total raiders/PvP’ers.
In my experience, party members who’ve tanked in the past need the less convincing.
Shamans can tank everything except Brutallis.
Brutallus poses problems for guilds with conventional tanks even to this day. Naturally, it will take more time for shamans to realistically tank Brut.
Atm the best chances for a shaman to tank Brut would be a Drenaei Shaman.

Shamans don’t have a taunt, it will take 2 expansions for them to be able to tank Brutallus, because at that point the boss dies fast enough that you won’t need a taunt. Even if you had a taunt, there is no amount of gear in TBC that would allow a shaman to survive a stomp + melee swing. It is mathematically impossible.

if you think getting smacked until the 2nd tank has to taunt of you is tanking than you lost it. tanks need to be able to taunt the target if its possible which is the sole job of the tanks on this fight.
and btw taunting is the harder tank mechanic on that fight, so you dont eat the slash and the stomp.

Truth be told I don’t think there’s alot of bosses in SWP that Shamans can tank pre nerf.
Brutallus requires a taunt. Unless you and the other tank posses god level threat management, there’s no way to do those swaps effectively w/o taunt. Not to mention that dps would be held back past the dps check, nor the EH you would have for the tank buster.
A shaman could potentially tank Void Sentinels on M’uru. They hit like absolute trucks but that is a high threat target that is achievable.
With an over geared group covering for them and just doing it for yolo’s.
But then under those conditions pretty much any class can tank anything.
It never ceases to amaze how effective these threads are at triggering people lol.
