Hey there Shaman. Yeah, you. No, not that other shaman. You with the shield.
Imagine yourself standing at the yawning mouth of a dungeon, the air from within tainted with sulfur and rot. The stones and dirt shift under your feet as your party steps up behind you. They look nervous, but you are used to that. You adjust your shield and lead the way; you’ve been here before.
The cavern winds deeper and deeper into the earth, and the creatures inside are no match for you. Down here, you are the master. Earth is your element, and you are untouchable. Magma rises to your call, the very stones around you rush to your aid, shielding you from blows. With a word, the power of Earth surges through you like a conduit, and you transform into an indestructible force of nature. The Earth is your shield and you are theirs: you are an Elemental Bulwark, the earthen wall between your party and death.
Air, Water, Fire, and Earth. Four distinct elements. Their use blends together, but each existing shaman spec makes greater thematic use of one element over the others. Water heals, Fire harms, Air enhances. Earth…is an afterthought. It is meant to protect. Earth Warder. Earth Shield.
It should be fixed. Shaman need a tanking spec. They are the only class with a shield that doesn’t make use of it.
