Shaman talents

Many shaman talents are a joke. Let’s take ancestral defense for an example. Why I wanna pick those 2% for leech and avoidance. Even if it would be 10% I would still debate for picking it. Also those 4 seconds for totems - totemic surge I have to spend 2 points for 4 sec? The answer is NO. Ancestral guide and that tree line is gonna be forgotten forever I’m pretty sure. Coz it doesn’t buff really lol. Totemic recall and that stuff for moving totems you should add in classic era not now xD. Elemental orbit is still bugged. Nature swiftness do not work with stormkeeper so what the point lol. Why cleansing poison totem removes 1 poison effect? XD. Why brimming with life exist? Focused insight is a joke talent. Why there are useless talents in the talent tree? For fun? What is fun about broken working ability elemental orbit? Stop saying that it is prepatch. It is not a finished game. Spend more time developing your game blizzard

Ancestral Guidance is actually proving to be quite useful.

It’s the bottom right of the class tree that has me more concerned, as outside of restoration there is legitimately no reason to ever take anything down there.

Thats a problem with most hybrids but shamans overdone it
When you read any build guide and see that it tells you to skip all talents in last three rows of a class tree something is awfully wrong wit hit

10% leech on a healer would be quite decent actually.

Combines with living stream talent. 2 more ticks = bigger/more healing from stream totem. I agree though it should only be 1 point instead of 2.

Very wrong here. A/G pumps/spreads out healing. I have it macroed with Nature’s swiftness for some mean burst healing.

Actually very useful also if you took the capacitor totem talent and need to move the second cap totem, need to move grounding/earthgrab totems, or if you took wind rush totem you can use it go farther if you move the totem in front of you after you’ve passed through it the first time to extend how long you get the buff, thus how far you can go. Will be very good in raids/m+.

This totem actually clears 4 poison effects over the 6 sec duration, which lets us have the ability to dispel not only curses and magic now but also poisons if we need to. :slight_smile:

Quality of life, pvp, m+, raids. All very different types of content. Some people like to min max how much dmg they can do as a healer and others like to have more utility and/or defensives. That is why those talents exist, but I agree, I dont see much value in them personally for what I will be doing.

Dont do this. Especially right now when things are being balanced and rebalanced weekly.

LMT build with totemic recall is very strong in beta. I did 75k overall my first time playing it

What build guild are you reading? Because the two most common do not say to do this.

Last three rows is a bit of a stretch. Ancestral Guidance, Thundershock / Lightning Lasso, and Totemic Recall (for resto mainly as I’m not really sure if Elemental gets enough use out of it with Liquid Magma Totem to make it worth the previous talents) are all good.

Creation Core is just awkward. The rest are niche at best or boycott with extreme prejudice at worst currently however. Mainly mana spring, tranquil air totems in the latter category. Poison Cleansing totem blocked by Totemic Focus and Surging Shields makes that path pretty horrible for Elemental and Enhancement in PvE (Surging Shields is good for PvP at least and not completely useless for Resto in PvE). I have more issues with Totemic Surge and Winds of Al’Akir at the moment however.

I don’t know how I feel about what appears to be a PvP only talent in Tranquil Air Totem in the class tree; would have been better as a ground effect with totem art instead of a killable totem at least. Stoneskin Totem just needs to be a bit more impactful instead of a low value maintenance effect.

They are all situational, which just means we will most likely have multiple talent setups based on what we are up against.

Many people on beta have mentioned that lots of bosses have a short duration silence/interupt, which puts tranquil air totem into a stronger light. Whether it will actually be worth using is yet to be seen.

Agree that to get most of them though, the pathing is not optimal for Enhance/Elemental and mostly feels bad. On the upside, getting to Ancestral Guidance doesn’t feel terrible for the dps specs, which I feel is where most dps specs might end up.

Nah these are telegraphed so you only get interrupted if you’re casting as their cast goes off. Tranquil air will still be useless in keys
