Shaman Survivability and how to improve it

Ankh is basically just a way worse cheat death. You “cheat” at low health/resource. You lose all buffs and have to be rebuffed. It basically just stuns you since you’re forced to be still by death. If you died in a rough spot you could just flat out lose access to the “cheat” and it totally disrupts the flow of play while actual cheat classes just move along with their day.

The only very very VERY niche situation where it’s better than cheat is unpreventable damage. And generally those sort of mechanics aren’t something you’d ankh anyway :man_shrugging:t2:

What if ankh had a talent or something that made it work like cheat death or purgatory. I dunno. Just spitballin here.

Reincarnation

Taking lethal damage no longer kills you, instead triggering reincarnation, making you immune to all damage and effects and restoring 20% of your health and mana per second for up to 5 seconds. During this time you cannot take any action or move. You may stand up and cancel the effect early. 10 minute cooldown.

The fact that Reincarnation doesn’t even have its cooldown reset on a wipe is so crazy to me. Every other class in the game has their major cooldowns reset, including cheat deaths and outright immunities, but for some reason Reincarnation can’t? Reincarnation is just objectively worse than not dying in the first place.

As an arena ele: just give me the 6% DR on earth shield and amend Surge of Power to also reduce the CD of earth ele with lava bursts, or add a talent that makes earth shock reduce the CD of earth ele. I’d take that and never complain about ele surv.
