Note sure if you’re trying to be funny or if this is a serious response. But for the sake of elaborating on my initial point…
The buff lasts 8 seconds (if you ignore that the cast is ON GCD and eats the first gobal of that 8 sec right off the bat before you can do anything).
But w/o other tools like static field/cap totem to actually keep your target w/in range and stop them from ccing you and negating most of the duration of DW, you don’t necessarily “GET” much output from the buff.
The short duration is particularly bad for a mechanic like DW since it has to ramp up via forceful wind stacks which can take time. So, something as simple as a 45 second disarm basically negates almost all the value of this CD.
In shadowlands it at least lasted 12 seconds.
Would love to see doomwinds duration extended a bit, grant some kind of disarm protection, or be OFF GCD so you can combine it with sundering for a cap totem into DW/sundering to try to get some reasonable kind of CC go off.
Sucks that DW is on GCD since that means if we want to cover cap with sundering before DW then we have to waste sundering for our DW go which can itself proc WF on every target and ramp up forceful wind stacks to do good damage. Or we have to forgo using sundering to cover cap totem so we can use sundering after pressing DW. In which case we need some other way to stop people from running out of/killing cap totem (i.e., static field totem).
So, if we’re not gonna get a longer DW duration, or an instant stun, or DW off GCD so we can pair it with sundering to cover cap totem, then it would be nice if static field totem CD at least lined up with DW CD so we could at least use static field + cap totem to try to create an effective DW go.
As is, enhancement shaman cc kit is awful for creating our own gos and takes stuff like cap totem into sunder or static field into cap totem just to try to create a small stun window that every other class can just do automatically and for longer just by pressing a button (e.g., HOJ, stormbolt, leg sweep, asphyxiate, kidney shot, intimidation, mighty bash, etc.). Why is enhance the only melee spec w/o an instant stun AND w/o a mortal strike. It’s why we are always trash in 2s and need to be paired w/specific DPS partners in 3s to compensate for our glaring weaknesses.
If it’s going to be that awkward to land our stun (since it’s a 2 second delayed totem that can be killed or outranged), at least give us reasonable ways to set it up into DW in an effective manner that optimizes our ability to put out damage during its pathetically short duration.
If we aren’t going to get to pair static field w/doomwinds and cap totem, then give us something else to help us solo land kills in PvP. Particularly with rated BG blitz coming out. If health pools are huge relative to damage and if enhance lacks both CC and mortal wound effects, then how the hell are we supposed to kill anything 1v1 in blitz?
