Shaman should be available to All Races

Why is the shaman class to race restrictive?

They have to make totems for that race. And probably also they have to come up with backstory and lore for each race to be a shaman, more work that just opening up the class as an optio.

I laugh a little at how Blizzard avoids any type of elf as a shaman. Even dragonoids disguised as half-elves.

Much less work to make one model of totem with different spell effects than to make variations of druid, for example.

True. I think the lore is probably why they delay it becuase it requires creative thinking which is developmentally expensive.

Loreā€¦ you mean like lightforged locks and tauren rogues? Blizz ignores lore whenever they want.

But I mean warlocks are rogues are in every rpg. Shaman is a class unique to this game so they donā€™t want to mess it up I guess.

Shaman is a class in DnD, around a lot longer than WoW. There have also been other games with a shaman class. Donā€™t make excuses for Blizzā€™s laziness when it comes to removing race restrictions.

Itā€™s not an excuse to want it to make sense with lore. Making crappy things because people beg drives me nuts. Itā€™s done when itā€™s done.

Homogenizing wow makes it lacking in flavor. And an undead shaman makes no sense.

Because such restrictions are necessary to preserve some sort of racial identity.

Undead should not be able to be Shaman for example. Unless Dark Shaman were a thing.

I was really bummed that Dracthyr couldnā€™t be shaman.

Honestly I kinda feel like a race has to be primal enough or have roots to primalism to be a convincing shaman.

I mean dwarves are rough around the edges
Taurens and orcs and trolls. A shoo in.
Goblins same argument as dwarves.
Draneai would actually be the closest to the ā€œnot shaman materialā€ feeling but their connection to ā€œthe brokenā€ is what makes it believable, that and they are very spiritual.

pandaren are intimately connected with the world, so yes. Same with earthen.

Now for the why the others donā€™t fit as well and which ones might ā€¦

Humans. Way too logical.
Blood elves. May potentially make sense for the same reason as goblins.

Night elves might work, but they also have a aire of sophistication, and seems like theyā€™d just lean towards Druidism spiritually. But might work for the same reasons as draneai

Gnomes no.
Mechagnomes heck no.
Undead doesnā€™t make sense either.

On the other hand I think dwarves would
Make great druids ā€¦

Kind of odd since NEā€™s evolved from trolls who are,Shamans.

(shrug) I am lost here.

Shamans really just have to want power from the elements, like Goblins.

kul tiran are humans and they are shamans.

I can see Blood Elves bending the elements to their will like dark shamans.

Night elves like to worship things, I donā€™t think the elements are a stretch. Night Elves and Elementals are both naturally occurring creatures of Azeroth so I think they could have a strong connection.

Gnomes would probably be like Goblins.

Undead are just humans again.

Waiting for Human shamans :sunglasses:

Kul tirians exist ĀÆ\(惄)/ĀÆ

IMO Paladins should have remained alliance and shaman horde. Would balance out the factions better.

Iā€™ve read some dumb things on these forums, but claiming locking classes to certain factions leading to balance may just be the worst.
