My main is a lock and I’m looking for an alt on alliance side. At first I started leveling a Paladin thinking I could have it all. Tanking, healing, cool melee weapons, but it is kind of boring. I like the fantasy of warriors and shamans but can’t decide. Seems like tanks are in high demand but so are shaman.
When it comes to dungeons, tanks will have an easy time finding groups. For Shamans, the people in our guild who have one say it is so much fun and I kind of have Shaman envy, so that may be one to explore. Shamans on Alliance side are in high demand, especially restoration shamans, but that isn’t to say the other 2 specs are undesirable by any means.
Shaman. Warrior if you only want to tank heroics or pvp. All three shaman specs are a blast to play and they offer a lot of great buffs and bloodlust.
Paladins at early levels are kind of boring. You get access to crusader strike and seal of blood later. But shamans will be in demand for classic and can be caster or melee dps. If you are a fresh ret a space goat might be in demand as they provide hit to whole group.
And Raids need at least 4.
Warrior imo. Eventually you will do more dps than shamans. You’re better at pvp. When wotlk comes out you’ll go back to being a top dps again.
Shamans don’t scale well as tbc progresses. They are not that good at pvp. Elemental does become awesome in wotlk though. Resto is a beast healer in pve.
Only issue is good luck getting into raids as a fury or arms warrior.
Shamans are desired for heroism/lust and totems/utility.
What about druid? Best of both worlds or nah?
Paladins are fun if you embrace the group-utility nature of the class, and play it with that in mind.
Shamans are more fun than Warriors IMO but I have healer bias and warriors cant heal. Do you like the Rage mechanic? That’s a big turn off for some.
Shaman is just so much fun, I would definitely pick it over warrior.

I am so glad I gave up this pally for a shaman. Shaman is so much fun! And alliance needs a lot of them so you are almost guaranteed a raid spot.

This is my Second go round in TBC (The first time years ago I had a Druid, Warrior, Lock and Mage)
This time it’s ALL Shaman…
And I haven’t looked back.

This is the best feeling in the game IMO. That feeling of doing damage, getting rage, and doing even more damage is hard to beat.
That said, I’d go shaman for an alt. People always want shaman.

Ya the rage from big crits in PvP will make you hard every time
