Recently, I’ve decided I want to get into Wrath Classic. I’m really interested in playing either a Shaman or a Warrior for Wrath Classic. I like their class fantasy and playstyles. My goal is to complete every raid in wrath on 10/10N. (Not heroic raids or 25man) However, I hear they both have pain points during the expansion.
For Warriors, They start off really weak but get better later. For Shaman, they start off strong, but get weaker each tier. So I’m at a loss as to what to play. Which class will give me the best chance of not being declined from groups throughout wrath? If I choose Warrior, I might not get to raid Naxx or Ulduar. If I choose Shaman, I might not get invited to ToC or ICC. So it’s a tough choice.
From what I know, most of the “hardcore” players will be doing 25m anyway. 10m will be for more casual players. If you’re just focusing on 10m, I think either one will be fine. That said, if I had to chose one, I’d chose warrior. It’s better to start weak and get strong than to start strong and get weak IMO.
Enhance shaman pumps single target and AOE right now, while warrior is basically worthless at everything. While warrior does become the uncontested #1 dps by ICC, enhance shaman is still very strong and the best players will still be very competitive by that phase. Along with that warriors have always been popular and the player pool for them is very large, while shaman players were even hard to find in TBC when it was the most sought after class. While you only bring a few of each to raid, there are always a lot less shamans than warriors while still being desirable the entire expansion. This ends my TED talk.
Shaman. Basically everyone who fotm rerolled shaman in tbc quit the class and there’s a pretty huge shortage of shamans now. You can quite literally play any shaman spec and get into any pug. Even guilds will take any shaman just because they want bloodlust lol. Good time to be a shaman. I was worried initially that all the fotm rerollers would stick with the class but they all quit en masse to reroll pala/dk. Enh is good DPS to bring regardless and Ele doesn’t compete gearwise with the massive amount of melee dps nowadays so people will want you even if the dps isn’t as great. Resto is a healer that isn’t Pala so people will love to bring you just for that.
Don’t listen to these people, Ele Sham is a 3 button spec that falls off after Naxx and quite frankly is already middle pack DPS while Enhance is like Feral in that you need a ton of buttons and skill to pull it off, for every 1 Enhance that pumps there’s like 9 other ones that hold the raid back with bad DPS.
Resto is the only decent spec and they’re literally chain heal bots, out of all 3 specs only one requires some skill and even then it’s too much micromanaging.
Go Warrior.
Prot is OP af and can do great in BGs/PvP as well being the best Dungeon tanking spec as well as being able to easily tank full on raids.
Fury is going to scale super good, with full BiS in P1 we actually compete on meters and Arms is the #1 PvP spec in the game.
Its the highest skill cap class in wrath sure. But for most thats an incentive, and with the buffs they bring and their reasonably high relative dps Id hardly say even average ones are “holding the raid back”
That makes zero sense. If there are no shamans around but bloodlust is a mandatory raid cooldown then you will take a shaman regardless of what spec they are because no one is playing the class.
The nerf was over some dumb fiery weapon mechanic, that was never the issue.
Right now no one has full BiS, we all know Fury scales the best out of any spec. Once someone gets full P1 BiS even with ArP it’s a wrap. We’ll be top.
