I am currently leveling a lock for classic pvp. But tend to love ele shamans. Both have great toolkits. Whats more fun or has better impact on group pvp. I assume shammies but figured id ask
If you are looking to enhance your group, go shaman. If you want to be the person in full on attack mode, go with warlock.
Shaman have a lot of useful totems, a great AoE heal, ranged damaging interrupt, and purge. They are great utility in a group.
Locks have great defense in their offense. They can DOT and run, they have some self healing through damage, fear is great to have, and lock rocks help everyone.
Both are fun. I played shaman back in vanilla, and my friend had a lock, and we would constantly jump on each other’s characters to mess around. The big thing with locks, though, is the free mount. To be fair, shaman DO get a free level 20 mini mount.
It really depends on your playstyle.
Both lock and ele have some crazy burst. When geared and talented correctly you can 1-2 shot incredibly easy as either. Especially right now with HP being so low.
I was jumped yesterday by a feral with all the engineering gadgets and was stunned for what seemed forever. I came out of the last stun and EM>CL>ES while he was in bear and he was toast. 100-0.
You can do the same with a heavy destro build.
Ele has amazing healing. Unfortunately once you go oom you are pretty screwed.
Lock has tons of healing. However if you go oom you have to life tap which can get you killed.
People sleep on ele, esp alliance until your group eats a fire nova>CL>ES that all crit and 2 of your 3 members are dead.
If you have a druid or priest healer as a lock you can be extremely tanky and put out tremendous spread pressure.
They both have their advantages and disadvantages in PVP.
warlock 100% i say i play enhance just for the windfuries other wise id play mu lock which im about to level up because im capped out on gear since i dont raid.
i have done all the 60 dungeons and got most of the gear for enhance.
if you were talking warlock or ele shaman go ele shaman they do crazy damage.

nothing like chain lightning for big damage to tag multiple enemies for honor credit.
id go shaman for bgs.
warlock for open world solo pvp.
