Juts got some downtime, gonna take advantage of the exp boost. Never played horde or shammy, is there a spec thats considered the best for pve at the moment?
Level up as enhance. Don’t respec off enhance unless you want to at about 38.

Aweosme, what are the must have runes?
Molten Blast and Shield Mastery you can get very early. Once you do the quest for Lava Lash, that will unlock dual wield as well. Way of Earth is pretty early and those will carry you for several levels
Around 25 get Shamanistic Rage to never have to stop and drink, also grab Dual Wield Specialization as early as possible, but that’s the Grizzby rune so it might take a minute. Finally, you can get Spirit of the Alpha very early, though it may take a death run through Thousand Needles. It’d be easiest to wait until you get Spirit Wolf before going for it
Around 30 make sure you get at least one RFK run so you can get a quest item from the last boss that will allow you to do the (long and tedious) questline for Maelstrom Weapon, although realistically you probably won’t actually be able to do the quest until mid-high 30s, because you have to fight level ~37 elementals and the last quest is for a level 38 elite
tl;dr: Shield Mastery, Molten Blast, Way of Earth for early runes
Lava Lash, Shamanistic Rage, Dual Wield Specialization, Spirit of the Alpha, Maelstrom Weapon for endgame
If you want to use a 2-hander instead you don’t have to do the Grizzby quest as they’re on the same slot, however you won’t get the 2-hander rune early on unless you get into a dark rider questline carry

For Runes:
Either go for the discovery (Some are really good, some are kinda poo…lol)
Or look on wowhead, it’s pretty good for that.
Get dual wield ASAP, and the rune as soon as you hit level 20/25 (Can’t remember when Grizz opens up)
