Shaman is the easiest class to spread to all races

Unlike druids who require all sorts of form, shamans only have one unique thing, totems. So here are some theoretical totem designs for the races left.

Alliance

Humans: This one is obvious, it has to be the Lion. Something marble and blue with a golden lion.

Night Elves: There are two options here that I think work well. 1. Mini “moonwells”. They wouldn’t actually be moonwells but their design would be reminiscent of the little “moonwell” fountains around Teldrassil. 2. This one is my absolute favorite. Small trees. They could have different leaf colors for the different elements, or different colored anima, it would be so freaking cool.

Gnomes: Gnomish technology… stuff? Something more refined than the Goblins, and not based around fracking. But I think some kinda power generator style of totem would work well.

Worgen: Similar to the humans, but a sort of regal high society style and a silver wolf instead of a golden lion.

Void Elves: Mini. Void. Pools. Sort of like the dark shamans from Siege of Orgrimaar.

Lightforged Draenai: I think it’d be cool to have a shiny golden variant of the base Draenai totems. Maybe have a small detail showing the totems are more forceful in using the elements to reflect the race’s violent side.

Mechagnomes: Same as the gnomes, but use that cool future tech aesthetic they got goin on.

Horde

Undead: Similar to the human totems again but these would black and purple and have the visage of the banshee queen.

Blood Elves: Red and Gold mini sunwells.

Nightborne: Mini nightwells.

Huh… Horde was much shorter a list than I thought.

The final one is Dracthytr but… it looks like they’re not getting any classes any time soon. Here’s to hoping Evoker spreads to other races and Dracthyr get other classes,

Lemme know if you have any thoughts or idea and thanks for reading!

I think your idea for the elves is amazing. I’d play an Elf shaman without a doubt if they were mini moon wells/sunwells.

I am… slighted by the way you mention of the Lightforged Draenei. The process of Lightforging is overcoming your inner shortcomings and embracing the light. Lightforged mages do not force the light into the arcane, they gracefully balance both. The shaman all class questline could have the Lightforged learning from their fellow Draenei and yes, having golden totems still.

Overall very well thought out ideas. I really hope they take inspiration from it, especially the elf ones.

I think you forgot Paladins. They are much easier to spread than Shamans or Druids since all they need are slightly modified mounts and some of those are reused for multiple races. For example, currently, humans/blood elves share, and the dwarves share, so I am sure they would do the same as they expand to other races.

I like some of your totem ideas, though.

All/All is such a bad yet inevitable idea

Kinda wish they’d kill the spiritualism idea for shaman. The class doesnt really revolve around the idea anyway. Go pure element. Kill ghost wolf and change it to elemental wolf or something. Ancestors dont mean anything if the elements dont like you.

I wish each race had their own ghost wolf form.

The only reason it’s a ghost wolf is the Frostwolf clan. I made several threads in SLs begging Blizzard to use the fae forms as a base for each shaman race to have their own identity.

For me, I think the totems should be:

  • Owl or moon for N.Elves
  • Phoenix for B.Elves
  • Moon or Stars for Nightborne
  • Tombstones for Forsaken
  • Tentacles for V.Elves

The rest of the suggestions I can agree with, except or Worgen I think they should be less “high society” and more rustic given to fit more with the themes of Shaman.

I appreciate the dedication for making all the elven totems magic puddles (it’s admittedly lore accurate)

For Dracthyr it should be a dragon head with the color of the aspects

When they add shaman for all races they will just add generic totems for the new races and let you use barbershop to change totems like you do with moonkin forms. That’s how they’ll also add druids to all.

Then they will add generic totems you can learn like tuskar totems or gnoll totems through rep grinds.

That’s my theory anyways. I doubt they’d put in the artistic effort to design special totems for underplayed races like gnomes.

Also paladins will get generic horses for the new races eventually added, based off of Tyr’s new band of paladins we met recently.
