Will Shamans ever get a fraction of the customization that Druids already have, let alone are also getting stacked on even more so now?
We shape shift too! We have have barely any options to choose from, and they dont look nearly as unique or good as Druids vast options. It actually feels like a slap in the face that druids get a raptor style form when thats one of shamans very few other options… lol
Also enhancements spirit wolves should have more customization on what we can call out…
Honestly this class just feels like its forgotten in the attic compared to Druids customization.
We cant even change how our totems look, like look how old and out dated the orcs ones are lol… just sad.
I was thinking about this, and you are right. Shamans basically just get the totems, which are nice but that doesn’t tell a complete story. Sure, you’re an Orc Shaman but what else? Do you have burns from being careless with fire? Maybe you have ice protruding out of your skin because that’s what you specialize in, or your skin looks more stone or earth like.
I don’t know how easy it would be to add this sort of thing, because I think Blizzard would have to modify each race individually, but if Shamans could get something that gives them a greater personal identity that’d be awesome.
My guess is if they have plans to give them customizations it will be when they give Shanan to all races.
Honestly, the way they have been rolling this sort of thing out it wouldn’t surprise me if they moved all the ghost wolf glyphs to the barber shop and added a bunch. They could recolor most of the Nightfae soul shapes pretty easy.
They could also throw totems and elementals on the barbershop with a bunch of new totem options that aren’t race specific and earnable in game.
I agree. On my Druid I’m proud and as happy as can be! But on my Shaman I’m just puzzled why our spells, elementals, and abilities are outdated and ugly.
Been thinking about this…where is it in any culture other than the Tauren where totems are even a thing? I don’t recall anything about totems in Rise of the Horde when describing shaman like Drek’thar. To me, the spirit forms and elemental Allie’s/spells are much more iconic to shaman than totems.
I think they’re based on Troll culture which was established in WC2 & 3, though I think they were called wards not totems. I could be wrong about that, I’d have to double check.
Can we just ask for more customizations without trying to steal from another class? We should be encouraging more for everybody, not fighting for scraps.
God forbid druids, the class that is all about shape shifting, get more shapes in a patch about the place where they get all of their powers from.
Shamans absolutely deserve just as much attention. They could just take all the wild shapes from Shadowlands and give them to shamans and then some. It’s ridiculous they haven’t yet
You must have awful standards if you’re happy. We didn’t even get a new effect for Raze. Just more paw swiping. Not even a ground tremor or anything. Our animations are terribly outdated. At best, we got a more graceful cat form stride but that’s it. Why do we not spin wildly when performing thrash, or why do we not stomp or flail our front limbs for our bear form abilities? With their huge size, bears have dangerous bites and yet we don’t have something that conveys that in any of our animations. Warriors get a new charge animation with them shoulder checking their target and skull bash is just a generic run.
We got a couple new ones with the last expansion. I wish the fox ghost wolf looked more like a fox… more like the Legion mount. Elongated ears wasn’t something I entirely enjoyed (the form we got)… but anyways the bigger concern with the new ghost wolf forms. They didn’t add a new dance to either form yet. Which would be nice. From what I recall it took the raptor form a little bit to get a dance. Hopefully they can add fun dances to the new ghost wolf forms.
Now if they wanted to add more. I wouldn’t say no to the idea. I mean I feel other classes that get other forms (druids) have been getting a generous amount. Oh I really liked someones comment the other day about getting a new Moonkin form in general. They only have two. When all the other ones have gotten a lot? Seems kinda weird. I think Moonkin is way overdue for one. Awesome someone pointed it out. I guess you could say the same for Restoration too. That would be nice if they would’ve gave more for them. Resto only has 1 form? Moonkin and Resto new forms would’ve been nice. Forms not recolors.
Anyways back to Shammys. I wouldn’t say no about more customization to them. I think all classes could always use more customization. Maybe add other forms for the summon elementals. I mean Warlocks recently got to swap out their minions forms. I don’t think it would hurt to have glyphs for different type of looking elementals… ? It’s just a suggestion. They could even add in some elemental looking dragon ones (Along side typical elemental looking ones. Seemed like they made a bunch of new ones of those too.) for this expansion. Since some of those dragons looked pretty nice and big elemental vibes, easy to distinguish which element it is representing… People could think of other interesting customizations for them.
