Hello, I was hoping to get some Shadowscale armor off of the auction house for an alt, it’s ilvl 262. Im just wondering if it’s still good armor? I’m not much of a raider, just want to have decent gear.
The 262 Shadowscale armor is unique, what ever piece you buy, you are limited to one piece for your character. If you need to get your armor from the AH, look for the 233 pieces, which are not labeled unique.

No, I’ve tried it, you can use multiple. The nametag is blue on it. It’s transmogable too. It isn’t the other stuff where you can only use one and it doesn’t have any stats on it.
You need to look at the actual listing, they are epic and you can pick and choose your secondary stats.

I’d suggest drop some gold on a 262 neck or ring, save your slots for tier pieces. Do the ZM chain for the legendary belt. Then figure out what you need for the second legendary.

If you like to PvP, there is that approach. Um, most of the good gear and tier are gonna come from Raiding/PvP/ or Mythic+s. Some high level stuff will appear on the AH, but you’ll pay through the nose for it.
If you do the ZM stuff and upgrade the console completely, you’ll get 252 gear from World Quests, Chests, Rares and Drops. Weapon drops are another story, you’ll need to do a quest in ZM to enable the drops, but cannot remember offhand the name of the quest.
edit: the quest to enable weapon drops in ZM is called Broken Circle
after you do the chain to completion, look for an epic quest item called Resonating Disk, it drops from any random mob, rare or chest in ZM
From looking at your profile, I see you do Raid finder, and you got a 239 trinket there. That would be your best option as a casual player.
I gotcha, thank you for letting me know! So sorry for the questions, I’m not too familiar with the SL ways of getting gear lol. Do you know how long it takes to get through the storyline? I’m starting it on a new character, I didn’t make it all the way through the first character that unlocked it. And also the quickest way for the console

there isn’t really a quick way for that, you’ll have to do dailies, and kill all and every rare you see. It’s a grind.

To be honest I would use one if needed to fill a low Ilvl slot. Their all unique equipped to one, given blizzard at least in this expansion doesn’t want people to be able to buy full heroic gear sets.
Curious to see how crafting will be in DF, given I know we can upgrade pieces, so I’m curious if their going to allow high Ilvl crafted sets.
My feelings too.
The 262 pieces that are unique are intended to replace slots for people who multispec or need to change legendary depending on fight.
Say you use xxy legendary which is made in helm/neck for fight one but for fight two you need yyx legendary which is in ring/belt. You then use the 262 pieces to fill in the gap for swapping legendries if you dont have a replacement item.

Just remembered, what professions did you take for your hunter? If leatherworking, you can level it quite quickly and then grind rep with the enlightened to get the crafter’s mark IV to make your own 233 and 262 gear.
I mean yeah, although if you do enough M+ you pretty much will passively get a full set of armor to pick from for this.
Oh! That’s very nice, I don’t really do professions but I will for sure for that gear. Is it soulbound or can you give it to other players too?
it’s Bind on Equip, you can give to other characters/players (that wear leather or mail) or sell it on the AH
