Shadows of Blackrock Pet Battle Quest

So I’m at my wits end here. I’ve managed to get through 6 of the 9 stages of these “Shadowy Figure” pet battles, but now I’m stuck on Zuna Skullcrush.
Every time I get close to beating her toxic spewing elemental, she swaps in the the pet that spams sunlight and photosynthesis. Even if I change the weather, I can’t take this one down before he casts it again and starts healing for 222 every round.
I’ve tried stunlock builds, I’ve tried to outheal, I’ve tried to just smash through with raw power, but nothing I can come up with is enough.
I know the most obvious answer is to just leave, get the necessary pets to win, level them up, then come back and follow a guide someone has already written. But it took so long to even get to this point, and that would take even longer. I feel like I’d rather just not bother if my only viable option is to just give up and go farming pet exp or spending thousands of gold on new pets.

So here’s my ask. Can any of you guys help a poor smooth brain that just wants to finish this questline?
I’m not allowed to include links, but you can see all my pets at warcraftpets if you user search “Polsar”.
If anyone can help me come up with any kind of winning strategy, I would be incredibly grateful.

I’d never tried Zuna so looked her up on Wowhead. Made me really glad I’d never tried her.

There does seem to be a strategy that’s almost guaranteed, just requires a couple dozen moves. You have Amberglow Stinger, Snort, and Twilight Clutch-Sister ? First two cheap on AH and Twilight is under 10K on the realms I looked at. Course might need to level them.

Here are the strategies on Xu-Fu’s, including the one Chrummie mentioned:

Hello. I’ve gone through your pet collection, and compared it against every strat on Xu-Fu. And it seems like you’re missing a few things each time.

The best strat for you, based on the pets you already have, with minimal additions to your collection is the forth one. You have Comet, and you have Zandalari Kneebiter. All you need is a Mechanical Cockroach. Those are purchased with the reward of the Gnomeregan Dungeon, but they are also cagable, so chances are you’ll find one for a nominal fee at the AH. That dungeon’s been out a while, so the time for paying exorbitant fees for the Mechanical Cockroach are done.

Full disclosure, I’ve never tried this particular strat (I use the first one), but it’s rated 4.3, so it’s safe to say it’s reliable.

As an aside, I have to say, what frustrates me about looking at your collection is that there’s a huge amount of basic pets, easy to get, that you’re missing. Perhaps you’re under the impression that these pets aren’t valuable. But you’d be mistaken.

For instance, I see no snails. Against Elemental bosses, snails rock. I see no Emperor Crab, which is a must have. With its ability to heal and shield itself, it can take down a lot of things. It might take forever, but it gets the job done. If you don’t have the pets in a strat, chances are pretty good that a three P/P Emperor Crab lineup will get it done for you.

I see no rabbits, except the Darkmoon variety. Rabbits are also good pets to have. With their ability to dodge and burrow, they can be annoying as all get out for your opponent.

Your collection is small, but you’ve got some great pets. You just need to build. I get that it takes a while, but on the other hand, you’ve got the stuff to do some WQ, to get the leveling stones and the Polished Pet Charms to buy more leveling stones. So, git 'er done.

And most of these pets that you catch in the wild will be pretty much levelled up anyway.

If you don’t want to buy Snort, you can win him in the Celestial Tournament. There are four pets to buy, and you win one coin at the end of each successful tournament. Each pet costs three coins. However, with your first win, you are awarded three celestial coins, so you can buy your first one with your first win.

Addendum: I just now attempted that strategy, and it worked like a charm . . . once I did it right. I bungled it the first time, because (I haven’t played in a while) I mixed up Bloodfang and Hunting Party on the Zandalari Kneebiter. Consequently, the pet I was fighting didn’t die and the Zanadalari wasn’t healed. Fortunately, I have back ups, was able to attempt it again, and it worked fine.
