We are a semi-hardcore guild looking to recruiting an Spriest and a DPS Shaman to round out our raid team. However, we are always on the lookout for skilled players who are interested.
We recently took a hit to IRL issues and some other standard guild drama, so we spent the first two weeks re-structuring and farming gear for main-swaps, while still trying to find time to put attempts on T5 content. This week was our first week with a full raid team and we went 6/10. We could have easily been 7/10, and w are looking at downing KT/Vashj as soon as possible, with KT attempts starting as soon as next week.
There are plenty of raid loggers, as is tradition, but there are also more than a few people who are on throughout the day and do heroics, PvP, and T4 raids. Either way, if you need help with anything, it is usually just a DM away in Discord. Additionally, many people play other games together, besides TBC, and are usually just hanging out in Discord.
Loot council is scary/off-putting for a lot of people, but no loot system is perfect. We base our loot council decisions on player’s BiS lists, value gained for the raid per piece awarded, performance, and attendance. We factor longevity to a degree, which usually we cut out after a two-week trial period. Our goal is to be fair issuing loot, while also minimizing loot drama and reducing the risk of gearing out a raid member, only to have them depart the raid team unexpectedly. In general, the gearing priority is Tanks>DPS>Healers.
