Any chance to see a “revamped” version of this weapon in the future?
Shadowmourne was such an iconic weapon att the time with a cool background.
I felt it was a missed opportunity not to include it in Shadowlands or Legion as an artifact. Is there still a chance we might see this weapon in the future? What do you guys think?
It still holds up well enough that it doesn’t need revamp.

I’m not sure it’ll ever get any revamp, but it would be pretty cool, considering they did a good job with Gorehowl.
That whole axe thing is freaking funny after shadowlands
Mograine, with no smithing expertise. Basically dreamed up the weapon and got to work. And ended up making a blade on par of The Primus. Or possibly stronger.
Was it? It still took the champion with Shadowmourne + 24 friends + a full round of 1-ups + Tirion with the Ashbringer to take down Arthas + Frostmourne in the end.

Nothing more then a T-mog appearance now same with Thunderfury. All legendaries of the past are just appearances now for Transmog.
I do not see them ever revamping old legendaries anytime soon. But if they do it will be done in way that probably won’t be very satisfying. I’d just be happy with the Transmog appearance that you can carry on its legacy over onto another weapon.

I don’t think it needs a revamp. Hell it looks better than some current axes.
As someone who actually has Shadowmourne I can say that it’s amazing how well the design held up after all these years.
I got stuck at blood infusion. Was all I needed to finish the quest chain. Axe is still stuck on shadows edge lol. Tried a few times to get a group to finish it, but after sitting in group finder for hours, I was like nope. Shadows edge looks good mogged with the original death knight armor though.
OG Gorehowl wasn’t a legendary though. Iconic? Maybe, but still an epic item. Have they revamped a single legendary from the past?
They made the blades of the fallen prince out of Frostmourne.
I wish we could craft something like that since we’re buddies with the Runecarver Prime now.
They gave Thunderfury appearance to rogue’s artifact and Warglaives of Azzinoth for the Demon Hunter’s artifact.
But it was back then when we couldn’t transmog legendaries.
They never “revamped” a legendary or recycled it for that matter (except legion leggos, some of them were seen as a different version in Shadowlands).
You can solo the blood infusion part. I did it a while back after following the steps from a youtube video.
