I really wish Blizzard hadn’t made this so ridiculously easy to get now than it used to be. It’s cool for pve, yay go do big giga dam and kill dragons. However, in pvp the proliferation of this weapon is going to ruin the ladders for anyone not playing TSG. If you thought that TSG was bad in original Wrath, it’s going to be far worse. Really any comp with ret, war, or dk, but especially TSG are going to mage life absolutely miserable.
Nothing can be done at this point, but I think it’s worth a discussion on how decisions are make which are having dramatic impacts on the game. We want people engaged and having fun. We want new players coming into the game, these kinds of decisions absolutely will drive people away.
I would say no to disabling them in arena, however, this will cause people to quit. And people will absolutely troll the lower brackets for the lol’s.
Yes, because we’re clearly moving forward with other xpacs that will also have leggos. So discussing with the community how changes are going to impact pve and pvp is worthwhile.
Wrath has a couple of months left at best.
Im worried by the time I complete mine, ill get like a week to use it before Cata is out (and i quit classic)
SM certainly helps people win games but honestly if you are really trying to content you can play around it and win… or… if you are just that big of a baller buy one and get the edge yourself. It is a little sad but WOTLK is pretty heavily slid towards get gold and buy the edge or get in a guild so you can manipulate your way into having it. Its how the community has set the whole thing up. Blizzard played into their hands, sure, but of course they are… they sell gold for money.
Arena players will come back in Cata, and MOP if they make that.
Wrath is a PVE gear/“warr scripter” lolfest, Warmane has shown this for over ten years
Most PVPers don’t really enjoy playing comps like TSG, Thunder, Wopal, or Preg anything. They’d rather play setup comps that are fun to play, but when faceroll comps are stronger it’s just boring
And yes disabling legendaries in arena would have been a good move, but Blizzard is focused on making other changes like PVE damage tuning and removing in-game paintings
The drop rate of Shadowfrost Shards on 25 player normal has been adjusted to match the drop rates of 25 player heroic.
The “end” boss of each wing (Saurfang, Lana’thel, Putricide, Sindragosa, and The Lich King) will now always drop a single guaranteed Shadowfrost Shard on both 25-player normal and heroic difficulties.
It sucks. I get it. Lucky me, I have zero interest in PvP. I’ve done my share back in 2015-2018. PvP scene in WoW has always struggled. Just not that many people are into it.
