Shadowmoon Burial Ground Difficulty is the sweet spot

So I was lucky enough to be accepted into a +20 SMBG. Once in the group I was able to see how many people were applying to join.

The list was greater than 80 players.

Make a +20 ruby, vault, or any other dungeon and its like pulling teeth trying to find people.

What does that tell you Blizzard? It says the players way rather do SMBG than other dungeons. Why? Cause people enjoy fun but doable content. People are not enjoying the other dungeons. If you bring the other dungeons down to be in line with SMBG, you’d see a lot more group activity and fun. More group activity and fun = more subs. More subs = happier shareholders. Happier shareholders = more funding.

So really, dont do it for us players. Do it for yourselves

SMBG is to easy, its why its the first one most people farm it at the higher ratings to get the better primal focus and ilvl for mythic drops.

Yes, people tend to do the easiest content for the rewards provided.

This is basic.

SMBG is the most fun out of the current M+ rotation, maybe tied with CoS. I’d be chuffed if we could get some BfA stuff in here.

Blizzard’s dungeon design really fell off this expansion.

It’s almost like SMBG is a meme dungeon with 2.5 target dummy bosses that you have to wipe like 6 times in to fail the timer or something. We ate 3 deaths to the last trash pull and had to use a brez on Nerzhul (lingering hitbox on wall still hasn’t been fixed btw) and missed a 3 chest in my +18 by 4 seconds.

Now imagine the bosses have twice as many hitpoints and the mobs did double their damage. Then cut the timer in half. Would you still think it was “fun”?

I think the other dungeons would be far more fun if they didnt feel like such an unforgiving slog/grind that usually ends in miss time or total failure.

Blizzard do a test. Take the least played dungeon… probably Ruby Life. Take the mobs and cut their hitpoints across the board by 25%. See if by that one act alone, you see a huge increase in interest in that dungeon.

And you would do it again because even though you wiped a bunch of times, the group was successful and you felt like you accomplished something.

Ruby is such a weird choice because after the constant nerfs assuming you have a group with a pulse it is probably the BEST dungeon to do a weekly key on because of how short it is and the timer is still lenient enough for at least one wipe.

I hate SMBG. The dungeon is boring and you have to literally go out of your way to fail it. The 2nd and 3rd boss exist SOLELY to waste time because it is literally impossible to die on those bosses because none of the mechanics matter besides the 30 second cast time bodyslam on Bonemaw.

Man i hope you’re joking, every boss in there is a complete snorefest.

Nokhud, HoV and AA are the good middle grounds imo.

AV is prolly where i’d set the ceiling. TJS and RLD trash still feel cheap and overtuned but bosses are fine.

Well you hold a tiny minority view. Blizzard shouldn’t cater to you, but to the large majority of its player base considering it’s a business whose employees depend on its player base to put food on their table.

Nah he’s right everyone who actively enjoys M+ hate SMBG, we do it cause its basically a free higher key.

Nah…SMBG is one end of the spectrum. Its easy, laughably easy.
SMBG i think i have only ever NOT 2 chested it like…twice?

If any dungeon i think is a good middle ground for M+ I would say either halls of valor ( Interms of length, mobs needed, what you can and cant skip) or Court of stars.

People aren’t playing SBG because it’s the difficulty sweet spot that they enjoy the most, they’re playing it because it is the easiest key to get +20s for their weekly vault. If you give players a reward (Vault loot), they will usually pick the most efficient method to get the maximum rewards. For M+ this season, that’s SBG and COS not far behind it.

SBG should be purged from the game

You must be a Canuck.

SBG is too boring though. There’s just not much happening. Last boss is the only interesting challenge really. And like 2 dangerous trash pulls that can be chaotic and that’s it.
