When I am pvping on a horde character I can feel the differences, I kept on losing my target cus a large number or % of the alliance team are night elves using shadowmeld to drop combat. A racial shouldn’t change game mechanics this heavily, I understand alliance side were out numbered but that is the history, it is time to fix the single most broken racial in the game.
Wpvp isnt taken seriously
BGBlitz and all arenas are not faction specific, world pvp quests are non-faction, and random bgs have cross-faction options with mercenary mode, and more coming soon. This isn’t a faction issue at all.
Use AoE.
You’re welcome.
Guess you against Feign Death n Vanish n Invisibility/Mass Invisibility etc too
If you know they use it and it’s been used on you enough to have this reaction, why can’t you adjust your gameplay and anticipate it as a likely occurrence and learn to counter it?
So until BFA that was actually never particularly true in actual PVP (not just ganking lowbies) - the reason merc mode exists is because pvp was alliance dominated to a point where it peaked in Warlords (because the human racial was busted)
WPVP has never been relevant for balance.
I was going to check the numbers to either disagree or agree with OP.
I dunno if Drustvar website was accurate but it does seem to indicate the majority of PvP players are Nelves and at the moment they are more than Humans + Orcs combined which are the next two most popular. Is this accurate?
I wouldn’t be surprised. Elves are the most popular races, night elves are the oldest elves, and the original druid for Alliance which was more popular on launch, on top of getting an effective racial in Wrath. Frankly I’m mostly surprised Blelves aren’t #2 though.
Wow, lotta nelf shills in this thread.
Why did people only start crying about Shadowmeld 20 years into the game? Did something change?
Every Man for Himself and Diplomacy got fixed… ‘fixed’…
I am pretty sure that’s the general population balance period - blood and night elves are the top two races by a few % apart and both wildly outnumber humans and orcs (with velves being #5 I think - like all elves together adds up to about 36% of the playerbase)
you do realize they cant move during it right?
Yes. In wrath of the lich king. People were slow on the draw.
Blood elves seem to not be popular in PvP. But I don’t know if the website is accurate so it might be wildly off.
Vanilla Shadowmeld was completely useless for one
You don’t understand. Alliance can’t have ANY even marginally useful racials.
If you haven’t been here since early Vanilla, Shadowmeld has been overpowered multiple times in its history. I remember when Aimed Shot used to have a long cast time, I could Shadowmeld, charge up the Aimed Shot while remaining hidden and blast an unsuspecting target, usually one-shotting people. They had to change it to where you started casting anything would break Shadowmeld immediately.
One of the first real updates was around WotLK where it was made into a Vanish, Warrior and Druid bear tanks could drop combat, killing the entire party / raid and still be the last one standing. They had to change it then too, where you had to be the last one alive for the vanish effect to work or else you stayed in combat.
NO shadowmeld has been in warcraft since warcraft 3 even if i dont play alliance there are just somethings that are to sacred that must remain such as shadowmeld your request is both denied and blocked forever.
those are classes MAJOR def CDs, not racials on TOP of the major CDs they already have
