As a Night Elf Hunter, what are some of the best ways to use Shadowmeld? I’m not sure how to use it in PvE and PvP. (not sure if Dark Iron Dwarf racials are better for a Hunter)
I know for pvp it can be extremely useful since it can act like a second feign death and force others to detarget you (since you are stealthed and they thus cannot see you). So it works great for moments when you’re being targeted hard.
Its nice to use for ambushing. When say some one is casting at you shadowmeld and vanish from them stopping the caste then go for aim shot.
I like my Dark Iron Dwarf racials. You can just get Camo for PVP. The racial for dark iron dwarfs is huge when it comes to battlegrounds. You can get all sorts of dots taken off with it.
if you have a decent +speed set, you can literally misdirect enemy players in random bgs to chase you away from objectives and ongoing skirmishes all while guaranteeing you waste their time with a shadowmeld, feign death (talented for pvp) and aspect of the turtle followed by a quick getaway back the way you came with aspect of the cheetah. exhilaration to heal if you took any damage while kiting them.
People in random bgs will chase a lone hunter thinking they will come out the victors but alass, they just ran 50 yards after me only for me to make a quick getaway back to my team while i /lol out loud.

Yeah it is basically a second interrupt. When you notice your focus targeting you with a spell that has a cast time it is useful.
Players use it for high level mythic+ keys for all sorts of stuff but mostly to drop aggro on skips.
It really shines in wpvp where you can macro it to things like the magic broom mount, portion of deepholm or pop into an instant camo even.
You can use it as an agro dump in dungeons. When you come out of it, you have lost all agro.
∆ this. Great for dropping agro when mobs are chasing you too.
