Oof… the OP getting absolutely massacred/destroyed in this thread
i wouldn’t say that. shadowbringers and endwalker is the only time it really explained your power and it is about you facing off against peers with similar or greater power.
dawntrail villains are 10 steps down in power
I can appreciate this post. I do miss that game sometimes.
During the first half of Dawntrail, the story isn’t about YOU.
The story is about the Ascension and you’re not there to do everything for her. You’re only there to help her find her way. That’s why you don’t immediately jump in and solve everything yourself, and the few times that you do, you end up performing feats everybody thought was impossible (like killing Valigarmanda).
In the second half of DT, you march right up Everkeep and put the lizard fiend down like he was a sack of potatoes and then move onto the queen who can’t stop you either, despite being the one who owns that power. Even the all powerful mysterious relic responds to you just before you fight her.
Actually, I think the conversation has left the OP behind. Primarily because the OP isn’t actually responding to anyone here. Instead we got a bunch of other discussions going!
i finished the entire MSQ and I wasn’t impressed with it relative to ShB and EW.
Personally I did not find lamati that endearing but she gets a pass for being the shonen protag and we get to see her grow.
I feel it was a mistake not to cut our power down in lore somehow, because many of the deaths of story characters in this game do not make sense because we are standing right there doing nothing about it.
i also think that despite the desire to have lamati and sphene relate to one another, that sphene has more in common with you the WoL than with her. So it was weird when she was the one to knock sphene into her senses in the end.
Won’t argue with that. The heros of darkness was dope.
How am I not responding, if in addition to responding I even did it first than you?
Well, ShB and EW are the culmination of a long, LONG epic story they built up.
DT is the fresh beginning of a new saga, kinda like how TWW is the first of 3 of the worldsoul trilogy.
It makes sense that both DT and TWW both start out kinda slow.
Oh most of us played it and hated it so much there was a mass exodus from wow into FFXIV. So many in fact that FFXIV had to stop selling their game because they couldn’t handle so many people. Yeah…the great success of Shadowlands.
Not even having access to Protection Spec is saving him from all the tank busters he’s receiving right now
And where did I mention that I found her attractive? If you are gonna point out my comment on her feet, that’s called a joke.
A talking weapon possesing a helf is much more interesting than a himbo vampire.
I can appreciate that. I think we needed a power reduction in-lore though. They make the same mistake in every shonen out there - it’s why they killed off Gojo and why they always shelve very powerful characters ultimately (until they need them later). They write themselves into a plot corner where challenges don’t make sense because your power level is too high to believe a loss.
It’s why Illidan is busy guarding the jailer, it’s why Malfurion was sleeping, etc. etc.
Let’s not forget all the WoW streamers who binge played XIV, and pretty much all of them said the story was fantastic and awesome, except for a few toxic ones, like that idiot who bought the story skip and was like “pfft the game sucks and the story makes no sense” … well obviously, they bought a skip lol. Obviously it makes no sense.
“I don’t agree with you” is your floor for “massacred/destroyed” ? your floor is low
Wow, that’s my bad. I didn’t realize you were the OP. I ended up thinking it was that paladin guy who’s just in here baiting people and not actually responding to anyone. I’m sorry about that!
And the game’s only gotten worse since then, as per people educating you on the systems, currencies and economy on Shadowlands which you didn’t play (by your own admission), and how those things were better than DF and TWW.
So what’s your angle
Literally Madara Uchia.
That really showed the player base of wow, when they just want to play end game content without experiencing the game has to offer.
I kinda disagree though.
With where they are going with the relic… they are kinda implying that there’s even more dangerous stuff out there that we don’t even know about yet.
Like that whole thing with Sphene, that could have legitimately ended the star every bit as much as the Endsinger would have.
