Shadowlands Survey

Surveys are sent to get a representative sample of opinions. Places like this forum are not a representative sample of the entire player base.

So yes, in a sense they are cherry picking - they are choosing random over biased.

And blizzard has a right not to send you another survey if you can’t follow your agreement.

Then it must have been the… phone calls

That is a possibility, true. However it also promotes the idea that they arent interested in the other opinions, just the people they send the surveys to. Which does not help the whole “Every voice matters” thing. If they only want to take certain peoples opinions, then clearly, every voice does NOT matter. =/ Or, thats the way many would interpret it anyhow.

they sent an email out at the start of BFA and Legion. They also sent out 3-4 other surveys during BFA.

They all also said “please do not share this. this is private information”. Of course it always ended up on the forums.

That is some naive belief there, who told you every voice mattered. Certainly not a company in business.

Thats impossible, as they wouldnt know whom would have what opinion. There is no way they can be assured the responses they get will be balanced. There is good and bad feedback on the forums as well. So in reality, there is no difference in what they are doing, they are simply attempting to go about it a different way. Which is in their right to do of course. It just seems like an unneeded measure when there is plenty of random people writing in saying what they do and do not like about the expansion.

yeah I gotta agree that’s a bit naive to believe that. In a perfect world that would be the case.

However they have made private tester forums before. Also there was a leak for the shadowlands private forum that there was also a private discord too.

Blizzard values some voices more than others. all companies do.

Yes well you don’t know much about random and representative sampling so guess what in this matter your ‘voice’ doesn’t count.

Well, Blizz likes to use that slogan, or, phrase a lot. Hell even their own employees gathered on their own campus with a sign that said “Not every voice matters”. Kind of indicative that, well, they have a lot of inner turmoil and problems at the least.

The only opinion that matters is money. Maybe Blizzard will make some adjustments from the surveys.

I think they wanna keep that feed-back loop centered around the main content creators for their games obviously. What’s better than free marketing for a major corp. anyway? It’s the same reason Nike doesn’t stop you on the streets for wearing the newest Air Jordans.

I got sent a survey too, was kinda weird since it kept gushing about how handsome and strong and capable I was~ They told me not to share it because the other, lesser, users may get offen- Oh dear.

Seems like I got a little over eager, but they will forgive me, being the Favourite ™ and all.

Sad. Age is not a crutch.

I have actually never seen or heard them say that. In any case, it still is extremely naive to believe that a company does consider every voice equal because some people are straight out idiots.

Oh, I agree. I dont do studies, or tests. However, I do know a little… One of my jobs is at an apartment complex. I am responsible for many things. Maintenance work order processing, leasing, supply orders, so on. I am smart enough to know, that if enough people complain about something, then it needs to be addressed. If there is a better way to do it, then that method is utilized. If there is a problem, it gets solved. I dnt go around to certain tenants asking “How do you feel about this bush over here? Do you like it? Dislike it? Ok, but, dont tell anyone I asked”. If a majority of people, dont like the bush, then someone gets a shovel and digs it up. That may be a very simple example, but, thats the way it is. Thigns here run smoothly, the tenants are happy and other than the recluses, are very friendly.

lol - okay.

It is literally in one of the images above, or, did you skip over that part?

I sure did - I don’t waste my time reading entire threads. Regardless my point still stands not every voice is equal.

Fact of life. We aren’t getting any younger.

Your points dont stand, and if you arent going to do enough reading to know that your statement(s) are untrue, then dont bother commenting at all. It is not only a waste of other peoples time, but yours as well. Unless you have nothing better to do.

So you believe every bit of bs a company tells you. Again that is extremely naive but you keep on believing that if it makes you happy.
