Shadowlands story is just TOO GOOD!

I just love everything about it, the linear path that discourages me from exploring the zone, the on rails experience of /walking with NPCs I have no emotional connection to. And don’t get me started about the EPIC UNIQUE fun quests, everything from, “throw this item at this spot” to “kill this enemy and pick up this
poop off the ground” truly blizzard has NEVER tried such exotic and creative questing as this!

My other favorites are the towns and how there’s hardly any NPC vendors in most smaller hubs. And lastly woah!! End game?! I love grinding daily quests for hours to progress my covenant, it makes me feel so apart of them X)!!

TLDR: Syst- err shadowlands is truly a passionate made expansion that blizzard has crafted to be even better that wrath.

The Maw seems to be a new, fresh system and…yikes.

why do people lie about it being good… I mean its not horrible, but its like a 5 out of 10 in general and maybe a 7.5 out of 10 relative to WoW.

Quit trolling bro, this is clearly the greatest story plot, exposition, and quest texts ever wrote by MMORPG game devs

You don’t read quest text, do you? So of course you think it’s boring

OP seems conflicted between hating the expansion and being too addicted to quit.

Why read when there’s voice acting and a huge subtitle box in the middle of the screen at every corner.

So was there something actually related to the story you wished to discuss?

I for one am quite excited for it. The whole thing reminds me of MoP, as they are able to be entirely creative with it, having very few stories tying them down.

Guess this was just another of your troll threads though?

MoP never tied unlocking the entire expansion zones to the story, the sole exception being Vale of the Eternal Blossoms IIRC. As such, it wasn’t as linear.

I am talking about the concept of design, not delivery.

They have been able to be very free with their writing and have created dozens of side-stories for characters they are inventing as they go.
For the first time since MoP.

I have never been much for anything but end game PVE, but this expansion has really charmed me with its story and characters.

I felt the same way with MoP to some degree, and frankly, simply do not care about any of our azeroth people right now after spending time with the new characters of my covenant.

I’m not sure what it is exactly, but it feels like a whole new game to me and that is REALLY appealing after playing this game as long as I have.

I can understand why they did that for the first playthrough, because they’re prioritizing narrative which they’ve obviously invested some time (and thus, capital) into - but thankfully, you can skip everything and do what you want on subsequent playthroughs.

They may not always hit the mark, but I appreciate that they still try different approaches (to varying degrees) after 16 years. I’ve spent most of my time playing other games, so I don’t have the same level of burnout or frustration as the players that have had this as their main, so take that as you will.

Didn’t you unsub and plan to go back to FFXIV next month already? Do you need another thread to tell us why again?

I lol’d.

Good show mate.

Ignore the haters. I know you did it for the lol’s. People get really upset when you don’t like their stuff.
