Shadowlands skip removed. Big mistake. At least give us the portals

And this is partially incorrect.

The skip may not have been removed, but getting a character to the right phase to have Fatescribe Roh’tahi appear and offer the skip is bugged for many.

I’ve got an 80 alt (originally a Legion demon hunter alt) that went to Oribos at some point in the past (not sure what level), and while Roh’tahi appeared, no skip was offered, only the ‘welcome to Oribos’ with the quest to explore the city / start the campaign.

All of my remix alts (level 70) that have tried to do the skip get phased into a version of Oribos (either taking the ‘skip the into’ option or playing through the Max intro) where the guards are all outside, but the portals are already up and Roh’tah is off in a side room with the only interaction a ‘tell me more’ chat option (and no quests available anywhere to either start or skip the campaign - journal shows 1/2 with maw checked off and arrive in Oribos grey).

Anyways, it is possible that the skip always works for a level 60 current retail leveling character, but it certainly doesn’t work for every character over level 60.

Blizzard needs to fix the bugs and IMO should just drop an NPC in all phases that has nothing to do with the story (so never moves) and offers a simple ‘skip everything’ option that lets players skip campaign, open all portals, and choose a covenant.

Since Threads of Fate was intentionally completely removed, do I have to do the entire SL campaign to get access to the Maw? I want a Mawrat pet for my 80 Dracthyr Hunter (for the matching horns and snout). When I jump into the Maw, she gets teleported out and dazed, and she has no access to Korthia to try to get there that way.

So, is there anyway to get to the Maw on fresh 80’s without having to do the whole stupid campaign?

Did they break it again? I just did the skip a few days ago. It seems to come and go.

I did it once on my old fire mage.

Campaign and story were one of the factors i hated shadowlands for.

Not even sure you can do it at all. If you skip the maw intro (I did this on a level 70 remix character) you are sent to Oribos and then stuck in a phase where you are given no additional quests to progress the campaign further. But someone else has mentioned even trying to do the Maw intro still doesn’t help because you end up stuck in the same place I got stuck. I submitted a ticket to understand what I was doing wrong but the reply was useless because they told me they were aware Threads of Fate was removed (which was irrelevant because I can’t even finish the intro part to even consider skipping anything else anyway) and then they said to track trivial quests (already doing that) or use a third party resource to try and find the missing quest (I used the Azeroth Pilot addon and it’s telling me the quest is missing but also showing me where to get it from however the NPC isn’t offering me anything even though all previous requirements to get the quest are met) and then they said to do an interface reset which not sure how that will help (I’m so frustrated) and then in the end they said to submit a bug because they can’t really fix anything but reporting the bug should at least help let the developers know somethings wrong. Unsure how long it will take to fix this issue but for now I can’t do anything in Shadowlands at all on a character over 60 that’s never done Shadowlands (unless someone can summon me to these zones but I haven’t tried that yet lol)

Oh no, you get stuck even if you don’t take the skip? This stinks!

I submitted an in-game ticket and posted on the bug report forum.

Good luck, and I hope they fix this sooner rather than later.

I hope so too! All I want is to tame some pets :sob:

You are checking Roh’tal standing behind the inn in oribos? That is where he was before they made him meet you at the portal balcony.

maybe you have to go to him if you are 70+?

Doesn’t work - Roh’tahl will be standing in Oribos behind the inn, but will offer no quests nor a skip, just a basic chat bubble interaction of the ‘tell me about’ variety.

Pretty sure threads of fate is still there at 60. Was it ever available before that?

Is there any way to summon alts to the raid entrance? It wouldn’t be ideal but I guess it’s an option until they see the error of their ways and fix it

I hate doing Shand because there are so many zones that we can’t fly on, including quests in the Maw, Oribos, and Korthia. This is ridiculous because those places are monotonous and boring.

So there’s only one way to do this right. You have to be at least level 60, DO NOT take any method that puts you in Oribos beforehand like Portals in your city or from Mages. Talk to the Death Knights to start the Helm ceremony and go through the Maw.

If you happen to skip the Maw intro or get bugged where the guy comes up to you, but the screen is locked with no option to choose, don’t worry there’s still a chance. Once you’re in Oribos, go through the Inn area and out the backyard, the guy will be there and if you see a White Bubble chat option you can go up to him and choose Threads of Fate.

This post on Wowhead tells you everything you need to know about Threads of Fate in Shadowlands.

Shadowlands Threads of Fate System Removed in Dragonflight - Wowhead News

I personally think there is a huge disconnect between what the Devs think we’re doing in SL, and what we actually are. But trying to convince them they’ve got it wrong is completely pointless.

They’re set on this course, they’re the Devs, so they can’t possibly make a mistake about their own game. That would just be unthinkable. /sarcasm

It wasn’t removed. You just can’t get it at lower levels. In DF, you had to be level 60+. Unsure if that changed to 70+ with War Within or not.

It doesn’t, because it’s incorrect. ToF still exists. Just not for leveling as a lowbie.

I’ve always had the best luck going to oribos at exactly lvl60 to pick up TOF, I did it maybe a 2 weeks ago

It seems like i have leveled ALL of my alts through shadowlands at 60, but I will see if i have any that skipped it. if you are 60 plus , logically Roh’Tal should still have the skip, but behind the Inn instead of trapping you on the portal baclony , but I have yet to prove that .

I think I might have discovered the problem inadvertently. Before I went to Morgraine to skip the mall, I went through the oribos portal in the mage tower and it established the return portal without a mage summoner.

Then I went to Morgraine , skipped the maw and the " Arrival in Shadowlands" quest would not appear, the guard protector does not offer to escort me to Tal 'inara, who is not present anyway and I can’t start Shadowlands questing or establish any flight paths.

I am on a Warrior character , that is 70, that was previously skipped to 60 and never did SL

And on another note, Roh’ tahl has a chat bubble , but he will only say" what is the purpose’ and does absolutely nothing.

It’s been removed

You can’t skip the campaign as a new level 80

Yeah. I recently brought my DK into SL hoping I could start farming raids and stuff with him asap, only to find I couldn’t skip the campaign. They let me skip the Maw intro, but that was it.

I just did it the other day on a level 70 alt. It isn’t removed. It’s just buggy. Has been since DF.

There seems to be this weird bug going around where it either doesn’t spawn the Fatescribe or there’s no quests and you have to go looking for them. Some have even got caught in the time stop and had to relog, only to find out they were screwed out of quests and ToF.
