Shadowlands raids no loot

Did a heroic Sanctum of Domination with 4 people only. 1 resto druid, 1 warlock, 1 fury warrior, 1 MMhunter. Soulrender, Fatescribe, and Sylvanas didn’t drop any loot. which really sucks for Tmog runs. plz fix or make it legacy loot.

Bumping this. We were bored today. Went back and 2-manned Castle Nathria. Almost half the bosses we killed dropped NO EPIC LOOT AT ALL. The other half dropped a single epic-item (non usable of course).

Not sure what’s going on with that.

If there’s no system message stating that “Legacy Loot Mode” has been enabled (or words to that effect) when you enter the zone then you’ll be subjected to standard raid loot rules. This will mean that there’s a cumulative 20% chance per person tagged to an encounter for an item to drop. In other words for every five people you’re guaranteed one additional drop, with a chance for another based on the remainder (eg 18 people will yield three pieces of loot with a 60% chance of a fourth, where two people is just a 40% chance of any item at all).

Bonus items like mounts, quest items, legendaries, and conduits are in addition to these drops, rather than counting towards them. They have their own odds, based either on the encounter as a whole (mounts) or the individual.

My understanding is that the legacy looting system only applies when you’re 11 levels or more above the content in question. Shadowlands raid content is level 60, and it is not currently possible to reach level 71.

In Sepulcher right now and no loot on raid finder… solo’d two bosses for a tmog. Time wasted

Unfortunately Shadowlands is too new to have been converted to legacy loot, where the bosses drop several pieces regardless of the number of players. Instead it uses the current loot system which is that each player contributes a 20% chance to drop a single piece of loot. 1 player = 20% chance of 1 piece, 6 players = 100% chance of 1 piece and 20% of a second. 10 players = 100% chance of 2 pieces, so on so forth.

I recently discovered this same issue, it’s not a bug it’s a ‘feature’ of the ‘current’ loot system which is applied to the current and previous expansions at any given time.

Soloing SoD on normal difficulty right now and no loot, killed 5 bosses already, zero items.

Yes. Just like I mentioned over a year ago, you’re not level 71 or higher so subject to regular raid rules. A 32.768% chance of something occurring - like five in a row for zero loot - is above 0% (by a decent amount), thus still not a bug.

It will probably be converted to legacy loot in the next expansion then? Since we will be level 80.

That’s how it’s been since the Legacy system was introduced. 11 levels is the quickest and easiest way to check, given it isn’t possible to be more than 10 levels over a given piece of content without being more than one expansion past it.

This way it doesn’t (potentially) interfere with people who haven’t bought the latest expansion. Blizzard has been rolling older expansions into the base game for a while now - just owning World of Warcraft means you have up to Shadowlands, so the content is still “current” for anyone who hasn’t also bought Dragonflight.
