Why are you rushing the raid in shadowlands? Oct 26 for release, heroic release 2 weeks later (nov 11) then mythic Nov 18. You are giving us 2 weeks to level and gear for heroic, then and then another week to be geared for mythic. All previous expansions you gave us 4 weeks to level and gear before raid release. I get the holidays are coming and you don’t want to work during it to tune and fix bugs but this is a stupid mistake for the following reasons:
You are now forcing people who level or raid with multiple guilds to pick 1, as it is impossible to level and gear multiple toons before raid release.
You are forcing mythic raiders to farm normal for gear and going to create more burnout. (Think about this…world quest gear caps at 171. Heroic dungeon gear is 170ilvl, and M0 is 183ilvl. M+ gear not available until mythic release). So the highest ilvl you can be before heroic release is 183, unless you want to farm 200k honor for 190 gear (not possible). So going into heroic raid (213ilvl) at 183 is not realistic. You didn’t even test heroic at this ilvl as we were scaled up to 200+. ) So were expected to not run heroic the first week and farm normal? let alone we wont be 183 ilvl as you only get 2 weeks of M0 loot chance.
Heroic splits are not possible now thanks to no bonus loot roll and ilvl difference (intersting to see the world first race do mythic at 190 ilvl vs 226, which means we are going to have weeks of the race now, not a week)
Its already possible to go the entire raid week with no loot, 3 (clear heroic and mythic with 0 loot) and now you take away bonus rolls that gave us that fail safe guarantee.
You guys are making a poor mistake rushing this, and clearing making loot harder to obtain, which you can argue “it creates more satisfaction” to reward less loot to make it feel earned. This is true, but youre going to create burnout a lot faster and kill more guilds on the already raiding declined game.
warlords, Legion had 4 weeks before first raid release, BFA had 4 weeks before raid release, prior patches to add new raids yes this is normal, but not for a new expansion
It is not possible to level 2 chars, get your covenant, condos, tower and be geared in 2 weeks to be heroic ready. Even if you play 24/7 with no sleep, 1 character will be lacking, and will be behind in legos

It feels like the are rushing to beat the holiday season but the game is not ready for launch. I suspect the first patch may be delayed as a result of a bumpy launch IMVHO.
3-4 weeks seems very excessive to me. Two is plenty to level, chill and start working on covenants and gearing to be ready for raids. With four weeks most of that time players are just restlessly sitting there waiting for the season stuff to actually start. It doesn’t need to wait that long. They’ve done it in the past sure, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done differently now.
The season for M+ opens the same week as heroic, but if they go by the BFA model gear from end of dungeon chests will be capped at a +6. Your Tuesday chest will contain the appropriate ilvl piece relative to the highest key you clear, however, so anyone pushing world first will likely try to do multiple 15s that week to have all 3 slots in the new great vault available so they can choose their upgrade.
Anyone not pushing world first isn’t going to have to do that if they don’t want to. Feel free to do one 15 if you want a mythic raid ilvl piece in your chest and spam 6s to be reasonably geared.
It honestly does not take that long to be raid ready. Unless you are racing for world first this really shouldn’t affect you, don’t know why you need 2 toons ready for non-mythic progression. For people that are shooting for world first this just speeds it up, they can get into M+ sooner and what not instead of just farming mats waiting for the flood doors.
If you’re not a CE raider who wants to be competitive, then that’s okay.
Just because a raid releases 2 weeks after launch doesn’t mean you have to start that raid on opening night. That raid is going to be there for months to come. I promise.
Cata had raids open on launch as well and it took several weeks to finish them all. It released 12/7 and per wowprogress there are BWD kills also on 12/7.
